After reading over "game design" from the main site and playing the game for a very extensive period of time (tbh 11 hours straight a day a few months back) I saved and started a new game, I died right away to examine the game it's self even though I'm dead the world continues on just as Chris said it would. A group of hungry bandits (usually with 5+ stats) had at least one guy with over 15 after maybe going through 3 fights with other bandits so they where no longer weak. Okay that's cool to watch but now I'm bored of watching how do I come back into the game? I can't well that's alright I died because I wanted to. My question to Chris is where do we draw the line of replay-ability? and total "I'm dead time to spawn a new world"
Now let's get to the point, later when female characters are add will we be able to have kids? Something like the sims? Will there be a fear of aging? So that After years of honing my skills I'm going to pass them on to my kid? So that later when my character dies someone in my group says "Well (insert name here) is dead, sadface" another one says "Well hey didn't he have a kid maybe he passed on his skills!" Now of course I could just continue playing with my old group till they die or get to old (of course if there is a fear of aging) so I go recruit some level 1 dude from a bar and name him my old character and train him all over again but that's going to be time consuming. So instead in hopes my group leaves to find my widow and child who say maybe has half the skills I had which cuts the training time in half. Now I get to play as him but does it happen all over again and again? Do i just keep making kids and wife's and family's just to die and replay as them? or do we draw the line and say alright player you did good you where a master swordsmen you could use any weapon through the years you had a severed arm and it was replaced by a robotic one, you owned 4 businesses and 2 mines you where the creator of the "hawk faction weapons INC." but now your dead because you went and fought (insert bad asses name here) the giant zombie lord and died game over you got to start a new world.
Also I forget how many towns there are (as i actually wrote all of this awhile ago but was afraid to post it) but I know in some towns there's a bar or two which means per town there could be 1-2 guys you can get but once they say die or whatever if I go back to that town will there be more recruits? (I wouldn't know as once someone dies i figured you can't go back to the same town and get someone else). Just wondering because (this is an estimate remember I don't know how many towns there are anymore or will be) there's about maybe 10-12 towns with 1-2 people to recruit per town that gives us around 10-12 people (if there was only one bar a town) or 20-24 recruits (if there's two bars a town) to get but is that all we can get? I know this isn't mount and blade where you can get over 50-100 people but is there a exact limit to how many we can have? Of course only if we have the room to house them and food to feed them.
A few questions

It would be nice to spawn a new character in the same persistent world if all your people are dead... though, technically speaking there's really not much thats persistent at this point in time. So its something i might like to see later on.
I think aging, families, succession, and all that stuff is really far down the line if ever planned at all. I mean, crafting isn't even in yet and the AI is basic enough that they just suicide into town guards endlessly... that sort of thing seems like a really long way off.
Yeah right now towns are static and dont really evolve, repopulate, expand or anything. The solution right now is abuse of the "import save" function where you could say, recruit everyone in the world, import, then do it again, but im sure this is planned.

I can't ever see it happening without feeling forced. For anyone who plays paradox interactive games my example would be, try playing Europa Universalis 3(~400 years game can finish in about 20 hours) or Crusader Kings 2(~350 years game, can also finish in about 10-20 hours) with the timeframe of Hearts of Iron 3 (World war 2, ~10 years can finish in about 10 hours because the time scale is different).
For those that don't know what I am talking about, I'll try to explain it here. Kenshi is a game that runs in kinda real-time. So to have kids and get them old enough to actually do anything (like walk) would take about 1-2 years REAL-TIME when you are running the game at max speed. It is possible to have them magically appear as babies then magically grow up at a slightly later date. but as I said earlier, this would feel forced.
But, lets say Chris speeds time up a bit (he probably will) so that a day takes a minute at normal speed. Well then it would still require an hour(made a mistake in my math, check my edit) to age from 0-10 year old at 1 minute per 24 hour period. Excluding pregnancy, finding a girl and courting (no rape in this game I hope).
But sure, that could be possible? Only an hour and we could stick them in a room somewhere to hold them. True, but then your own faction members age by 10 years too. This means you get 3-6 hours out of them and they are gone forever (6 hours is generous. Few guys run around in deserts carrying swords at 70+ years of age). You will create the "OMGZORZ, my ChAratcreR D1Ed for n0 reaosn after like a few hours" people. Plus, I don't want to watch my guy die, I want to relate to them.(keep in mind they will die after an hour if you like to run across the desert at max time multiplier)
Next alternative, children age faster than adults OR adults stop aging. The fakeness of this will become apparent very quickly and makes the whole thing look cheap and forced.
I'm not saying it is impossible I just don't think it offers ANYTHING to the game and has a whole lot of negatives that need to be circumvented. Can't we just enjoy the game for what it will (promise to) offer rather than try and stick every single little thing into it. I already worry about feature bloat sometimes and sometimes things just don't seem relevant.
EDIT: Actually, it would take 60 hours. I mistakenly divided by 60 twice for my original calculation. This children idea is totally IMPOSSIBLE. On the plus side, your characters won't die so quickly.
