Hello Kenshi Community!

I want to show you the community website http://www.worldofkenshi.com . It's intended for the community of Kenshi and features some things that we cant have here.

Diary/Blog:
Some people love (I am one of them) to write a diary/blog from the own story gameplay. You can find such diaries in communities from games like Skyrim or CiV. These stories are most interesting if they are coming an open world game - and Kenshi is one.

Gallery:
Upload your screenshots directly and share them with the community.

Mod Database:
Directly upload your mods and find mods of your opinion - nice and fast.

Connect four playable in the forum:
It may sound a bit stupid but why not? Lets play some rounds connect four while browsing the forum or waiting for 0.40  . You can start threads in the "connect four" area of the Offtopic board with the option to attach a game. Someone can now join in and you have a live game (no refresh of the browser needed).

Maybe the idea of the community will fail or maybe it will go well and soon the forum and database will be filled with content. How ever - I am making it not for a profit, I am making this for fun and the community. I have to okay from chris for this, so it should be okay to post the link in here :)

With the time I will change the website to be more "kenish"ish. For example letting guests beeing "outlanders", other ranks, other logos used, getting a "real header logo", ... .

If you join the Community let me know if something is wrong (to low upload sizes for avatars, ...).

Greetings from the desert,
Inkognito

Neat idea!

I personally love to read AARs of various games. I think Kenshi is also quite nice for AARs, as we already have seen some smaller ones on this forum.

I'm more the lurker, than the contributor; see my post count in this forum (registered since 2011). :D
So I probably will not write any AARs... but I hope to see more.

Everything you mentioned there can be done here. The community for this game is really tiny, why bother with a fansite at this point?

I ask you: why not?
You can write a Book with a piece of paper and a pen, but you could aso write your book with some software at your PC. It's the same with worldofkenshi.com .

Sure you can do those things here too but will they the same? No. There is a difference between writing a story in a thread or with software which is made for that - same with the mods. You can post a thread about it in a board with more different mods and upload it to Dropbox or you can use a software which is made for that and makes some of the work.

Worldofkenshi.com is surely no must have but I am sure that it is a nice to have. So I don't say "you have to use it", I say "come if you want to use it". + I am open for more features how hellhound1 knows :), you just have to speak with me :)

Greetings

The facination with B E E S is part of the true spirit of kenshi. Sounds like you are already on the way.

Although I have to echo Mattk50's sentiments here. We already have a kenshi community and an offtopic forum for posting whatever we feel like such as your stories. I feel the community may be too small at this point for your site to be a success.

Either way though, good luck.

A few potential reasons for not doing so would be 1. splitting of the already tiny community in the short term 2. splitting of the mod community in the long term.

That analogy was really bad btw.

I joined :D But I have to admit, not because I think it's very great idea or useful at this point, but because I want to know what's happening.

And who knows, maybe WorldOfKenshi will rise some day. And when that day comes, I don't want to miss it ;)

I have to agree with Mattk50 and Blxz and others, we have tiny community. There's like 5-15 people who are really active and maybe 50 whom visit time to time and maybe 100-150 lurkers or those with 1-10 posts. That's not enough activity to produce interesting/worth-checking-once-in-a-while content for 2 big sites. (Not to mention r/Kenshi subreddit which seems pretty dead already.)

But I say it again. Fuzz around Kenshi will increase. It may not be "Top Seller of the year" in Steam awards but there will be more people who want to share their content and consume other people content. Maybe it's not time for WorldOfKenshi quite yet but it might get enough followers with time and hard work.

Thats the point. Sure, right now there are not that many players and the community is not big but think what will happen when Kenshi gets some updates or even sound. There is a lot of potential behind that game and it will rise - same with the community.

Right now I am not doing much to the website - I have a lot to do.

Yeah its a good idea but i have to many other websites im checking for development adding one more right now just isn't gonna happen this website is busy enough for me to be happy with it :) good idea though maybe when the community is a bit bigger and this site becomes purely for bugs or has to many people posting for chris to handle!
