Lo-Fi Games

This is totally random, and out of the blue, but how will updates for Kenshi be handled? I mean, obviously if it was released on Steam, that would be the obvious choice, but until that time, would it use an auto-update system, or would it be a patch-based system.

Also, will patches be mandatory or voluntary? I've seen supporters for both, but I'm struck by how both Minecraft and Mount and Blade have a fairly high push on updating, with a recent update for With Fire and Sword breaking a lot of stuff despite being downloaded by default on Steam.

So basically, will updating be automatic, or manual, and will it be compulsory?

manual and voluntary, you will have to download the new patches yourself. I don't want to put the time in to make an auto-patcher.

Ok, that's fine. Will there be a built in mechanism to check if there's a new version out? Or will it just rely on checking the website? If it relies on manual checking, I'd definitely need a nice big thing to tell me which version I have.

It will sure keep up the traffic to the site

I've been lightly following kenshi, fantastic it's still going well chris. Must have been more than a year since I (rather pathetically..) tried to help out.
