Kenshi has long lacked the animations for additional weapons, but it is my hope that the Steam Early Access sales will stay at a high enough level for Chris to be able to purchase either animations or a solution to create them. I'm not entirely sure whether we will see staff fighting, but one can hope.

As for legendary weapons, it depends what direction Chris takes with the weapons crafting. I mean I guess I can see where it would be pretty cool to have unique NPCs with unique weapons in specific or randomized locations in the wasteland, defending certain caches of supplies or locations that would have to be killed to build an outpost at that point. Then you could acquire a "legendary" weapon of whatever type. I imagine if nothing like that is in the game at release someone will mod it in.

Not sure what you mean by "legendary", but there were, and still are, rare exceptional weapons in the game. The are described as being made by ,and called , "Edge Walkers".

The blades at one time were a nice blue steel color, dont think they are anymore. They were both find able and buyable at one time, havent seen a new one in a while ,so not sure if they still are.In their description, they are called weapons known for their "legendary" properties.

Ive got a few of them.My favorite one is a topper with a base damage of 2.8

Just dug around with the forgotten construction set and those are still there, but there is only one way to get one.

This last patch nerfed them to oblivion :P

My favorite sword is now .27 damage

BUT,weapon smithing seems to go pretty high,to at least 10 or 11,and the stats go up with each level. So we might be able to make something very nice now ourselves.

I'm also a fan of kenshis weapon although as what clawdious said it lacks in animation it will be better if someone upgrades it.

Check the date stamps guy, this thread is REALLY OLD. Necroing old threads can get you banned in some forums, so be mindful of what and where you post things in the future.

again, it'll depend on dev's wishes/funding. However, to the best of my knowledge, craftable weapons of above tier 5-6 are beastly in comparison to what AI units would have. From what i've seen craftable weaps of tier 8 and above are better than anything that can be bought or found.

Read this forum's rules, they value thread re-cycling over thread clutter.

we already encourage people to use search to find something thats already been posted. including bug reports if its still relevant.

To me, a single sentence is not worth the time of day for a topic that has already been discussed and has already come to a conclusion.

There is a difference between thread recycling and necromacing old threads.

Thread recycling is when you have an idea that is similar to an old one and reuse the old thread by posting your idea in it.

Thread necromancing is when you've basically used the search function to look up an old thread, post in it, bumping it to the top of the thread list, all the while contributing nothing to the thread by posting something in it that is completely irrelevent to the topic at large.

I have no qualms with reusing topics. However, bumping an old thread just to say you agree with something stated within it should not be permitted, as there is no point to it.

I'm glad that no one bans people for posting in old threads here on lofi, as that's silly, considering a moderator could assumedly just close a thread.

If the single sentence is not worth the time of day, then ignore it. You've spent more time complaining about it than is warranted, just by having complained about it, at all.

Regardless of your respective definitions of "necromancing" and "recycling," no one on this forum seems to care if old threads are re-opened or re-used, so the differentiation seems pointless, but thank you. We're all a little smarter now, obviously.

I apologize to the mods for my snarkiness, but I just had to be a gadfly. Sorry.

Dear God! TWO sentences! We must all chastise this OBVIOUS idiot for telling ONE PERSON out of MANY that necroing threads in larger, more visited forums, can get you banned because they don't want pages upon pages of threads, that have already been viewed, to bury more current ones.

Clearly this a warranted situation where we should all continue to derail the topic further by posting in it, rather then sending the complainer a PM. Clearly.
