Thought I'd get this ready before release, so we can post advice and help each other out.

Also, where are we going to report bugs at?

One more thing, when we download first release, and need to patch, will we loose all previous saves?

Neat idea. I'll be sure to drop by here once the game's been released.

As for your question, I think that would depend on the kind of patch that's released. Patches that update or add new mechanics (like an updated medical system, or updated combat etc.) are more likely to require a new game than, say, an update that improves the quality of the graphics.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind losing saved games, because 1: I'd rather play the game in an unfinished state than wait for a full release, even if this means sometimes losing my saves.
And 2: If you really don't want to lose your saves, I guess you could always just install the game again and only update the 2nd installation, so you'd have one updated version (without saves) and one old version (with saves).

I will make sure that save games are always compatible, or at the very least you will be able to import your squads from an old save. If the game balance is changed too much I will recommend you start a new game to experience the new gameplay, but I will never force it.

I will make a bug report forum after release. If I make one now you will only fill it with posts about bees.

Well, we have to talk about something don't we? Besides, this is just the calm before the storm. Just you wait 'till the game is released and the forum is flooded with stories about the bees we baked in Kenshi!
 Hmm, supplying a besieged city with poisoned bees, viable possibility?

Also, yay for compatible saves!

I actually have a question right now. Maybe this already been answers and my memory is failing me but, why were female characters removed from the release, and will they return?

They will probably return.

So he has planned for different genders having different gameplay experiences. At least he did 2 years ago.

And I believe they were removed from the first release because the art wasn't finished or something like that. Will be weird though, walking in a world without females (a bit like my Computer Science class :P ). I wonder if this means that after a few in-game decades the world will be deserted?

I didn't have time to make female versions of all the clothes, and then I had exporter problems, so I left them out temporarily. They will be back. By the way Stalker had no females. And Metro 2066. And soldier of fortune.

Okay that made me laugh.

Also, when you release the demo, make sure you include a list of stuff that you turned off, or didn't put in. (fix list, change list) So people don't fill your bug report section, with things you already know. Or things that weren't supposed to be working in the first place.

Actually both Metro 2033 and Soldier of Fortune did have females. :P STALKER you're right about though. And that was the only game of the bunch with any real similarity to Kenshi since it's got a lot of free roaming around a large world.

Call of Pripyat had free roaming, the original stalker was a lie in a box.

I actually ever played Call of Pripyat. Did play STALKER, but was a bit disappointed by it. Was CoP a great improvement over the original Stalker?

It was better, and the map was properly open ended. Definitely better, but no legend.
