Traders and Caravans visiting my town.
well i got my first town established and opened a shop by making a building public and adding some storage, a large shop counter, and some items. The only problem is that over 5 in game days has passed and no traders is there anything else i need to do to get trade in my city?

Your friendly neighborhood headcrab!
I think the only problem is you in a zone wehre no merchants pass by, a no interest trading zone so to say, or did you add a worker in the counter? Not sure if they needed or not, had done a new save game a while ago and stil do nt have shop.
It s Hbrown!! Gotta get some pies!
still dont appear to be able to assign a worker to the shop counter, whether or not they work now, i have no idea
I have about 4 counters in 4 different buildings, and all have food ,water, and rum.......things id think the ai would buy up as they passed thru...which brings up another thing i noticed...the ai is no longer entering my town.
I picked this spot because it had a very large flow of caravans thru it,there were usually 3 or 4 in my town at any given moment last patch, but now, the walls actually seem to keep them out,and they dont seem to grasp the gate concept.......
2 caravans seem trapped between the wall and impassible terrain, because they wont walk along the wall to the gate......

Gates and walls are broken so i wouldn't be surprised if the ai can't figure out path finding around them. I think the traders still need a bit of work though, or I'm missing something on how to get them to work, currently a group in my game is running in a back and forth pattern and not actually buying anything or moving on.

Traders pass through my town all the time, but haven't traded anything despite my counters being stocked.

yep, make sure they are set to public, just had my first customers was rewarding to see them come buy my BOOZE!
I'm having a bit of a problem getting caravans to trade with me. They head into my town, and then walk back and forth over and over again. Their orders section lists them as shopping/staying close on every little lap they make. I have:
- imported into a new game
- researched public sales
- built a shop counter
-stocked it with rum, bread, and a few other incidentals
- set my town to public
- set the saloon that's housing the shop counter to public
- saved, exited, and reloaded my game
All to no avail. Can anyone point me to a step I'm missing, or is this a bug?

i had to import twice to get it to work, I put a Town directly where i know they go too, so its not to out of the way, Sometimes i get lul's where no traders show up too.

My town and building are both public, the town is directly in front of the town you spawn it, I have imported the game (position only), and they won't buy my stuff.

I just bought Kenshi yesterday (so I don't have any old game-saves to import) and I'm also running into the problem of traders coming to the edge of my town and switching between Aimless/Shopping/Wandering Trader. My town and all buildings are public. Any news on how to fix this?

not to sure about that i have my Shop counter in, outpost s-IV so, shouldn't be a problem with that. your stocking with rum, and Bread correct?
Just rum, need money to get bread set up and people to run it. Will they only stop by if I have both?
Edit Update: I started selling bread and they started showing up. Now I just need to figure out if there's a way to automate moving finished goods to the shop counter so I can have income while I wander.

For now there is none, may in the future they might place the "inventory organizer", dude who arranges the boxes and makes sure stuff all working prperly, to be able to carry a percentage to the counter.Ifisa wrote:JEdit Update: I started selling bread and they started showing up.
