Hey everyone, i'm new to these forums so would just like to say i'm Glyn from a small company on YouTube called Better Gamer Zone. I've been fortunate and lucky enough to be given access to Kenshi to create some YouTube videos on it :D

I've made a first video just introducing people to the game and hopefully increasing interest, did this before the latest patch so i'm going to do another video shortly on this patch as I am intending on following the game now all the way through the rest of Alpha, through Beta and after fully its developed and retailed!

There's the video link if you guys are interested :) I would love to know what you think of it, good or bad and if there's anything I've forgotten to add or anything to add in future. Like I said, hopefully going to be doing a video soon on the latest patch just so I can detail all the changes and everything, as this is what I want to be doing as I follow the project through the process!

Hello Glyn. Thank you for joining the forum and doing what you can to promote the game. I am a big fan of it as well, and hope to get some attention brought to it. I have bought the game for a few people on Steam to try and promote it a bit. One of my friends is HJTenchi, a fellow Youtuber who focuses on promoting Indie games. He is waiting for sound to be added to the game to do a video on Kenshi last I checked.

First thing I would like to say, I respect anyone who is brave enough to put themselves on Youtube. It takes a fair amount of bravery to put yourself in the line of fire from critics. I would like to offer my honest opinion on the video as one of the previously mentioned critics. Of course, you ultimately have final say in how your videos are produced, these are merely observations I feel may be helpful in future posts.

My immediate observations were as follows. The video and sound quality are great in 1080p. It was a good presentation, but a little bit monotone in some of the middle parts. Your explanations were informative and accurate. I would watch out for repeating certain phrases too often, such as 'bear that in mind' and others. I think unless you are livestreaming, it would be better to do post-production commentary. This way you can edit out the parts where nothing happens, or plan out time for longer explanations. Also, this way you can comment on what is going on rather than rattle off many details without displaying them. Many off-topic explanations can confuse people who are not familiar with the game. I will give you an example.

Talking about how tough the sand ninjas are before they show up on the screen doesn't have much impact on viewers who have never seen them before, versus the regulars who have experienced it first hand. When the sand ninjas showed up near the end of the video, that information became relevant. Before that, viewers would have nothing to compare them to other than their idea of ninjas. It's like trying to explain the magnificence of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 to someone who has never heard it, but knows Beethoven's name and popularity from other sources. I think a better way to approach the different factions and bandit groups would be to give an introduction with close up video of each group. This will be important when they add new factions (or implement NPCs for the current list of factions). Talking about future updates and possible features are fine as well, such as dual wielding, though mostly I would stick to features currently available if it is going to be a series.

Overall, the video was good. I think it is wise to advise new players to take it slow and play more cautiously, as we know Kenshi is very harsh in the beginning. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing future videos on this.

Hey, thanks for the comments guys :) Glad someone is watching my videos!

Bancheis, thank you very much for taking the time to watch my video and go through it and write what you thought on it, very much appreciate you taking the time to do it!

I will take into account what you said in your post in my future videos. If your friend would like to do a dual comms when he does get around to doing a video, I would be more then happy to join in on a video :)

For all the people that have watched my video thus far, I would just like to say thank you very much and I hope you enjoyed it!

However, I am here to do some more shameless plugging of my channel and the video as I would love more people to see it and get into the game! :D

If anyone hasn't seen it then please hit the link in my first post and that will take you to the main video on Kenshi which describes the game, current content and future content. I have also released a video of the patch development just before the latest patch which was released last week and will be releasing more videos on the game as the game hits milestones and implements big changes. Please feel free to send the link to people you know/think may be interested as well!

For you guys that have been keeping an eye on the game but still haven't yet decided whether to buy into it or not, come subscribe to my YouTube channel as once it hits 1000 subscribers, we will be doing a competition with the prize being a copy of Kenshi or one other game currently in Alpha in steam ( I won't bother saying what the other game is, because you want Kenshi ;) )

Anyway, thanks for reading guys and I hope you enjoy watching my future videos on Kenshi as much as I enjoy making them!
