Should upgraded wells be tier 1?

As the topic says, I find it a little strange that automated wells are in the second tier, when you'd think something like that would be the first thing you'd try to design once you had power, and not the monstrosity that is a stone processor.

That would kind of ruin the purpose of normal wells. Especially if there's no big difference in cost of the buildings. Also, I think it's not that easy to build anything "automated" so, to me, it sounds logical that building it requires little more advanced research.

I agree with Aku. Also, it doesn't really take that much time for me to get Wells 2 anyway, so it doesn't make much of a difference.

The difference in cost would be in the energy requirements. As it stands, a single entry level generator can only really power 1 thing. Right now, that's not a big deal, because at tier 1, the only powered item, afaik, is the processor. If you make the tier 1 powered well, use enough power, than you're deciding between keeping the processor powered, or building a second generator. It also seems strange that you can build more efficient generators, without really having a "need" for them: typically, efficiency is built out of a need like drawing more power than you're capable of creating at that time.
