I read that kenshi will be released on Desura, but it's not out on Desura yet.

But the problem with Steam is that they tend to take a way higher percentage of the money for themselves than other digital distribution services. So that'd mean Chris either has to increase the price, or settle to make less money per sale, which would hurt production.
They may take our bees, but they'll never take our piе!

Desura are cool, they are just being a bit slow to respond and put the game up. They have the game, I'm just waiting for them.
Steam don't do unfinished games as far as I know.

Overgrowth dudes are currently working on steam integration and steam managed alpha updates, so I guess it would work. But I simply don't see why there should be anyone getting money for Kenshi except Chris.
Edit: MAYBE some artist, too.

If this was the best it got, I would be completely satisfied with it. The game is amazingly fun for so little content actually there yet.

Aye, been as excited as a baby. Perhaps as much as the first time I've gotten my grubby paws on a copy of the Mount and Blade demo years ago.

Thats not a problem when you consider how many more people will see the game when its on steam. Thinking that sales are guaranteed and basing your price on that is economic suicide for digital goods.ArcaneSaint wrote:But the problem with Steam is that they tend to take a way higher percentage of the money for themselves than other digital distribution services. I have to agree with Matt on this matter on the soul reason that I have never heard of desura until I heard you folks talking about it. Now Steam on the other hand everyone and their mother knows of them. I see much more pro's to releasing the game through steam then on desura even with losing more to getting the game out there more.Mattk50 wrote:Thats not a problem when you consider how many more people will see the game when its on steam. Now, I did have a question in regards to how people can help the game, or join staff so to speak. I try to get my brother in law and his girlfriends name out as much as I can they are both graphic artist's and have a huge passion with games. Not sure if they would be interested but I would be happy to give them a call and find out if they would be interested in helping in this project. Regardless this game makes me very excited to watch for and Chris, if you are looking for help and others to join your staff and what not I'd be happy to give you the websites for them and you can email them to discuss more about the project.
Thank you,
SK
Yeah same, so just to clarify if we paste the activation code into Desura should it activate? Because I tried and it wouldn't accept it, although I thought it was because I had activated it through the Kenshi Launcher but if it generally doesn't work then can we activate it through Desura in the future?Vesath wrote:I picked the game up off gamersgate personally.

No, you don't activate through desura, you only paste the key into the game launcher, no matter where you bought it from.
