Confused about crafting...

So, I got the blue print for katanas, and then I got the blueprint for nodachis, and I've done all sorts of research up the wazoo and I finally made myself a smithing crafting thingamajig and when I click "new" It says I can build nothin'.

I'm totally confused because I definitely bought blueprints for katanas and nodachis.

Can some one explain this to me?

research to higher level.
just keep researching until you get them.
if they still don't show up then its either a bug or not implemented yet.

I do have to ask, but have you actually "Consumed" the blueprint by right clicking on it to use it? I know that's a bit of simple question to ask but that would be one of the reasons.

I think you have to upgrade your crafting bench at least once to be able to craft katana/no-dachi. Level-1 crafting is for clubs/heavy clubs.
