*Noob Question* - UI and other Updates

I'm currently running Kenshi from the steam version, and my UI seems very outdated and I haven't encountered anything like wild animals and the game just generally looks outdated compared to screenshots like:



Is this just me not noticing these things / I need a modded UI or is the steam version generall outdated?

i'm using the Experimental Version

You have to opt into it to get the animals.
Experimental is for those who wish to help test the new updates and help get them as bug free as possible before eventual release to the standard Alpha Build.

If you wish to opt in, you can find the info how to listed in the testers forum and in the announcements subforum on Steam.

Experimental is also apt to have more bugs and possible become unplayable with content updates.
The Dev made it this way so the majority of players won't have to deal the the main bugs whenever a update is put out.
