Will we be able to import our squads from the alpha into the beta?

We'd better be able to. I trust in Chris. They won't let us down.

I hope so. I've been playing since early alpha, it would suck to lose my squad.

Me too. My avatar is essentially a god. 80-95 on all skills and insane stats.
What you can do, is open your squad file on the FCS and record your attributes and stats. Then, even if there's no import option, you can essentially recreate your guys. Face measurements too. Just in case.

IT should be possible.
You should be able to import your character ( and reset squad positions ) but you wont be able to keep your buildings, and sounds like changes to the Tech system, you wont be able to keep that. ( this is a guess as the Dev has said nothing about transferring Tech )
So i would think your characters and whats in your inventory should transfer over to the new map.

I still have a character save from the first few public releases of the game with 3 million cats and skills over 100 (high enough that you actually lose skill by fighting in the current versions)
Hoping to mod that squad in as a roaming faction for me to randomly encounter and recruit or fight or whatever.

Bruh, what? Epic! Can attributes like strength and dexterity go over 100 too? I'm at 91 strength on my main guy and it takes real life weeks to get him up a single point.

There is currently a curve implemented, its a limit approaching 100, meaning 100 isn't actually attainable, though perhaps you might get close enough that the math will roll over at some weird programming limit.
What this means is that if your character (now only possible with modding the game) has a skill over 100, your skills actually decrease as you gain experience, as they approach 100. Not my favorite way of implementing a soft cap but hey it works. -x^2+100=y where y is the experience and x is the output level

Weirdly, some skills don't have caps. After years, my mass combat skill is past 900 and my first aid is at 134. But in all other cases, yeah. That equation fits pretty will. Snaps fingers. Darn. 99 is a pretty good number but I wanted a perfect 100.
Thanks, Matt.

Here's a query. There are two different subraces of human. When we import our characters, will we be able to choose whether we get to be Sundemons or Greenlanders?

The talk about changes to models and research make me think we'll probably have to start over and maybe not even keep the exported characters. I'm probably going to save a version with backpacks full of gear and a version naked because of w/e the modular gear stuff is all about too.
