I don t know if this is really a bug but i didn t found anything on the subject, so i decided to report.

Today i started a new game, i forgot the name of the beggining, but isthe one you start after loose a batle with a single companion, and so i grabe him and was heading to the closest place (Traders edge), whne i reach there passing throught the bands of bandits i notice something weird a far a town which suposly is not there, when i look better, it s the small town i had built in the previous save  .

It s not marked on the map, nor it shows as a stlement from no one or anything, but it seems i can use it like if was mine, did this just happened to me? Or is a regular thing now done? If is normal the time doesn t hit right, as i built a long after the current date of the new game xD.

Edit: Forgot to mention, all the items i had in storages around, i stil have them as well, buidling materials, weapons, water etc all still there, not just buildings(somwhat pitty i had sold the best weapons..), but research and craft are still at stage 0, nothing changed in that part. Also the town is not as i last had built it, it s some time before it, lacking buildings i had already done.

Can you zip up the quicksave folder and upload it? Chris may want to see this, someone else once encountered this issue but it seems to be extremely rare.

Ok was soner than i expeced, just had to change the squad position a bit to make them be in the town which was from a previous save, if anything wrong i can do the situation agan easilly it seems, as this happens in every save by what i saw till now.

EDIT: Just noticed now, the budlings acutally show as being from the united citties, and for sale, tho each building have the last setting i had on them (locked/unlocked), but i seem able to use pretty much anything from there,

Have either of you used Shift F12 and fooled around with the Ogre editor while your town was loaded up, to say, create walls or something of that nature?

Hmmmm, that may have been enough though, if that is the common thread with these occurrences.

So kenshi updated to 0.44 and Chris recommended that i import my squad to a new game. I did that but my town from the old save was still there O_o only with a few missing buildings. Now here comes the weird part, apparently the people from eye socket (I assume that it was the closest city) has claimed the building and is now inhabited by NPCs. I didn't fumble with the shift 12 menu because every time i tried to the game crashed.

I tried to fix this problem by creating a totally new game and coincidentally i built my outpost near the place where you fight and lose a battle and end up with a single companion. I imediatly saw that the buildings are still there. My theory is that the buildings remained because it was the second outpost/village that i have built, i checked out my first outpost which was very far from the other one and it was completely gone. Ohh by the way the second outpost which remained still had all the items on the containers, also there was no collision with the walls of the houses.

I don't know if this helps. I can send over the save files but not right now as it's late and i need to work tomorrow but i'll do it asap.

Recently noticed i had thistoo, besides habited which i had before, i saw this times the insides, because i took the chance to loot my old materails to sell for money to equip my team again, they had placed their own ounters and some other builds insides, even overlaping the old ones, and 1 citizen alone, in each salloon, bot no one else than those, and seems just the saloons changed, a building i can t even enter, i don t know why, all others i can, even through the walls.

Yes the buldings are like ghosts, all of them except one, i can walk through the walls, in and out, including the material machine, and the objects inside as well.

Have the same thing, two towns i built using the editor have stayed permanently in my game, they say they are mine but i cant work them, and i have a tendency to walk right thru them,
One town was created by hard work, but i used the editor to add walls,
Other one half was made by me rest i added via the editor.
both say they are part of the closest main town, but says i own them..
and if i try and remove them it crashes my game.

Noticed now despite the town say belong to other, my characters still use it as theor own, i had a character building and he ran off materials, and went till that town just to pick some more, luckily they were not too far, still not had chance but i guess the ones working on the mines would also use it as i still have no close storage.

I had this same issue. I chose to create a new game importing my old squad, and without my old buildings. As I went to explore options for placing a base camp, I ran into an old camp of mine I set up ages ago. The camp was not as complete as I remember it being. It was probably about 25% of what I remember the complete build looking like. I ended up trying again, but not checking the same place this time. I checked another location I had a town in, and ran into the same thing. This one was less complete, 10% at most. I did some troubleshooting, tried deleting the files in the 'zone' folders located in the Kenshi/save directory. Even after doing this, both towns were still there. As mentioned in earlier posts, this may have some correlation with using Shift+F12 as I do recall playing with the editor to see what some things would look like before building them. It would make sense early on in my base building to use this at those percentages of completion.

I decided it would be best to start with a fresh install of the game, as can sometimes be the best decision when working with Alpha and Beta versions of a game. After using Steam to delete the local content, I noticed that the Kenshi/data/leveldata folder retained two zone files, while everything else in that folder was wiped off the system. There was also the data/character/bodies/ folder with 3 files of characters I saved with the new functions. Those plus the 'save' folder were retained. The save folder and the customized character bodies I understand, the leveldata files I am not sure why they were saved. The leveldata files could explain the old bases still existing after starting a new game without buildings. If the game is unable to delete these files when adding the new world data, everything in them should appear where it was like it seems to have done.

Now I realize this information would be very helpful with the attached save folder and any folders/files mentioned. I am only writing this after I had wiped everything clean and started with a fresh install, so unfortunately I made a rookie mistake and did not save anything. I apologize for this, as I should have kept them to send in. Hopefully the rest of the information will come in handy in other user's troubleshooting.

Fun fact, even long after i reinstalled the game, i had this problem once again, tho a new town of a new save, guess really because the construction set as i had clicked sooner on it by accident.

EDIT: Fun fact number 2: Seems that if you had a previously owned buildind in a town in a previous save, this will make the town shown like if you had the building bought, despite it be not, showing the power and so in town, and unlock all doors which are regularly locked, had a bit of fun looking in all rooms due to this, found a battery bark in Brink, some buildings as regular houses, beds adn stool, some empty building shops, and i believe a tavern storage, holly hell that room was filled with barrels, i guess my guy freaked out cuz of that when walking by it, i didn´t went in but there was almost no space to walk, some barrels ere even inside others, and one of them opened with left click, like if was player owned, despite say otherwise.
