No there will be no dump files attached to this, however I will provide the corrupted save for examination. I will however include the dump files related to my super crashes that happen every so often. They are however not bad enough to ruin the game for me.
Cause- Shortly before exiting game to restart it(in order to avoid a super crash that happens ever 1-2hours of gameplay) I quick-saved, when it said it was finished I exited. When I prompted to reload the save, the town I had built and its inhabitants had disappeared. I cannot find them even when I reset squad positions. All that remained to my name was simply 70000 credits, and my faction title. And a list of my completed research.
An hour1/2's work gone, this recent debacle has now only pushed me to conclude that due to instabilities, now to be found in saving, that I should not work by the games standards; and that cheating is acceptable. I really wish this wasn't the case.
System specs:
OS:Vista Business premium
CPU: AMD Dual Core
RAM: 3 gigs, with added virtual memory provided by an attached hardrive. Theoretically making it 5-6 gigs(Even though 32 bit cannot utilize it all).
Video Card: Radeon HD 2400 XT
Game Settings:
Resolution: 1024x720
memory allocation: automatic
Textures: medium
Shadows: lowest res
Forced Single threading: Off(having it on produces the same crashes)
QuickSave:http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/4 ... ve-7z.html
CrashDump:http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/4 ... 1-zip.html
PS: I have backup saves in case anyone gets ants in their pants if they don't know.
Something I just noticed, all the save files are version "580", also they all state I currently posses 0 members. Could this be a prelude to a repeating problem? Perhaps after a year the save file is checked or something, and it says 0 members, so my town disappears along with its residents? (The outpost however still shows up on the map)
Last thing- I checked the save file, for current and quicksave. Dear lord, the zone/platoon files are all gone! Its as if the save process finished to quickly to even get its job done! Mind you I did not end the program in a untimely manner, I waited for it to tell me it finished, looked around at some stuff, when it faded I then exited.
1/29/14- Has occurred again, my hypothesis is that a super crash caused the saves to become corrupt. I in fact had two separate saves in place, that are now devoid of platoon and zone data. That or if you save near the occurrence of a super crash, the save is filed incorrectly due to internal conflicts. I will try to characterize it more as time goes on.
Warning!! Save Error!! ( Save File Corrupted )

I am going to try a file recovery. If that doesn't work, how do I use the ".bod2" files to recreate the same-looking characters? Every time I make a character I save it and at the bottom it says the file that it was saved as. I know where these files are, but is there any way to utilize them and copy the physical character?
This sucks
(I will attach my save file(s). I looked at just the quick save file like instructed, but it was empty so I zipped the entire save file).

I am having a similar problem with my members/party disappearing. It doesn't seem to directly correlate in timing with a crash or super crash (though I've gone through 20-25 of those today on my 2GB Vista Dual Core 2.8GHz). I've started backing my save files up constantly, though I'm not sure that this game is even playable at this point for me - my save files keep obliterating themselves lol - *sigh*
The game will autosave; the first time it did this was when leaving Trader's Edge for Telbooze, and the second time was just going into Capan after some bandit looting outside; then it says "WARNING!! SAVE ERROR!" and never loads correctly again.
I had searched and didn't come across anyone else with this problem, so I apologize if this is a double post - but the circumstances seem to differ:

All of my members disappear. I tried a file recovery too... details are in my post above.

I tried a file recovery program and didn't bother trying to recover the files, though it detected more than 30 deleted files throughout the save folder. I would say about a third of them were 20-90% overwritten (so parts were just flat out missing).
I use Steam's "verify integrity of game cache" and there is always something it has to retrieve it seems... Even when I do this multiple times my game continues to crash - at first it was every 25-30 minutes, now it's every 5-6... (2GB Vista Dual Core 2.8GHz).
I'm afraid this game is becoming almost completely unplayable for me - which really sucks because I really like the concept, and got about seven hours into it before my save files corrupted the first time.

steam always replaces at least 2 files
these are configuration files.
and just noticed part of your system specs you posted.
The character deletion i have no clue on for yea.
but your game play time i do.
you're a bit above system min to run Kenshi and with the current memory leak you might continue to have this issue.
solo play with no buildings playing at normal speed gives you a good amount of game play. and runs at the slowest for memory leak crashes.
even if you can run other AAA games no problem. you will have issues with Kenshi, mostly because its only minimally optimized.
Hopefully the Devs will have a answer for you soon.

Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable

Thanks for the response Hatsune_Neko. I don't fully understand what you mean though.
"solo play with no buildings playing at normal speed gives you a good amount of game play. and runs at the slowest for memory leak crashes."
Do you mean that while I first start out, just having one player and no buildings made myself, that I will get a longer run time? Or do you mean I should somehow disable viewing buildings?
Also - do you know if there is any way to utilize the .bod2 files?
I wanted to post that someone else seems to have come across this problem http://www.lofigames.com/phpBB3/viewtop ... f=9&t=5830

longer play time. its not as demanding on your system.
and right now there is no way to load the bod files that i know of, thats for a future update. and unknown when that will be.
And thats why we ask people to sue search. but don't worry ill merge it into that one soon. ( i'm getting ready for work at the moment will move it over later )
Enjoy

Oh man, I'm really sorry to hear about your save game - I feel really bad, that sucks so bad... we'll look into why that happened.all.mad.here wrote:I tried a file recovery program and didn't bother trying to recover the files, though it detected more than 30 deleted files throughout the save folder. As for the crashes making it unplayable - I think the new 64-bit engine that Sam is working on should fix the memory leak and super crashes. Until then, hopefully Hatsune Neko's advice will help... let us know how it goes

Thank you guys
I've just started all over, but now I am backing up my save file every time I quit the game (should have done that in the first place I suppose...)
So far things are better. I installed a new antivirus and did some things to help my system run better. I'll also add more ram soon. Things seem to work decently enough at the moment.
(Oh, and I had tried to search if others had this problem. I only searched for the "warning!! save error!!" though and nothing came up for that when I did it at first).
