Pacing Bug (Potential Fix)

I will start by mentioning that this is a steam version of the game. (0.67.2.)

tl;dr: Everyone runs when told to walk/ verify integrity of game cache.

All characters constantly run without exception. Selecting walk or jog has no effect and the characters continue to run. This bug seemed to have a large enough impact on my gameplay to be worth reporting as it presents problems when trying to pace an entire party for traveling. I am sure setting all the faster characters to follow the slowest would be a temporary solution, but not a fix.

Problem:
This bug occurred just after the brief lag caused by an autosave. I was in combat at the time and some of my character icons were flashing red. The reason I mention this is because I noticed that when attacked and being chased, characters seem to lose what pacing was set for them (run, jog, walk), and instead switch to run. As I have not read any recent patch notes, I cannot verify if this is intentional but am adding it anyway as an afterthought. After the the lag from the autosave ended and the game resumed, I found that all characters would only run even when far away from any kind of enemy.

Potential Fix:
After experiencing this bug and experimenting with different save files to make sure it wasn't just a one time problem for that specific save, I proceeded to do all regular checks for fixes. I turned the game off and on, turned the game and steam off and on, and verified integrity of game cache.

Verifying the integrity of the game cache replaced 4 files. I then launched the game and tested the bug again, it did not fix the problem at first, however; after tabbing out of the game for a few minutes and then back into it, the problem was fixed. All characters that were set to walk were walking, etc.

This fix occurred the first launch after verifying the integrity of the game cache, therefore I'll recommend doing that as a potential fix for the bug.

Only other mention of this bug I could find was from the topic "Selection box and walking bug?"

Can you make this issue occur again after the Alt + Tab fix (on any save file)?

The only thing that I can reproduce that comes close to the bug is when there is an enemy close by. It either targets me and pursues, targets me and then tries to run, or doesn't target me and is simply nearby. When this happens, all characters break into a run and will not stop until I have gotten a large distance away. This is consistent with every fight and is frustrating as hell, but the consistency makes me think it is a feature.

The original problem is fixed for every save and I am unable to reproduce it other than described above. Sorry, I will post again if I manage to successfully reproduce it.

There have been cases in recent versions that cause some enemies to become a transparent form of non-combatant (i.e. you encountered an enemy that doesn't 'aggro' and simply walks by), whenever you tell you chars to Attack All (generic RMB-click), your chars will scatter.
A workaround for this is to Hold RMB and click Attack Target.

This is one of many things that will likely be fixed with the pathfinding update (which is coming in a week, so keep up the Kenshi activity to make sure all these pathfinding bugs are resolved).

Glad your other issue has been resolved.

For future reference, there has been a fix for a variety of things to delete the \Kenshi\data\ before verifying the integrity of the game cache, because Steam's method of doing this doesn't update out-dated/corrupt files, it only replaces missing files.
