I just noticed now. Stun damage recovery is slower than bandaged damage. I thought stun damage recovery was supposed to be faster!
As stated in the help file:
[0.61.1] Stun damage recovery is slower than bandaged

I don't see why they have to update the help file.Danzigsam wrote:I hate to complain, but... In that picture it says "loosing blood." Should be "losing."
Hate to bring up an old issue but had a skirmish with cannibals today...it seems that stun damage takes far too long to heal than bandaged injuries...I had one squad member carry another one who had both legs stunned...from the cannibal camp to the nearest city and was walking very slowly...and when we reached the town gates, he still haven't recovered from his stun injuries...it doesn't seem right for stun damge taking too long to heal...I think it should be the type of injuries that heal the fastest...
Not to mentioned both arms are stunned too...and his chest and some other parts, a majority of his stats are grey and still grey when he was brought to a bed for rest...but the yellow injury bar has already gone and healed...
I had my ankle twisted once but with bandage and ointment I could still manage a slow jog...and a stunned leg takes HOURS to recover?

The way I see it, stun damage is more like blunt force trauma, which would explain why bandage is useless. Since I have no idea of the recovery times between a cut by an edged weapon (ouch) and a bruise from a steel pipe (ouch, too), a treated injury (bandaged wound) should recover faster than an un-treatable one. So this might be more of a misnomer than a bug, or feature imbalance?
Thats a positive way to put it...thanks! Now I could cleary understand the relation of the healing time requirement. Usually I see stun as a short temporary disability since you would recover from the state of being dazed...yep I think they should change the game wording term too since "stun" is a very light word to describe the disability injury caused by blunt weapons...Ben wrote:The way I see it, stun damage is more like blunt force trauma, which would explain why bandage is useless.
Instead of stun I believe the developers should use the word "trauma"...makes the game more unique that way...
As for real life recovery I had some personal experience myself...from getting my flesh punctured by sharp steel, the odd cuts and animal bites...blunt trauma could vary with the location it affected, if it only hit thick flesh, bones or close to important organs like the eyes or kidneys (swollen eyelids makes it hard to see and a good hit to the chin could easily knock you out).
Also dirty and ragged injuries like animal bites or any injuries if left untended and infected would take longer time to heal...so reason why the game concept of bandage would apply....as for blunt trauma so far you just have to wait for it to stop swelling...yep better not use the word "stun" anymore because it doesn't sound severe at all...
