The 1st crash occurred approximately ~30 seconds after the initial load when I hit 'M' to pull up the map
The 2nd crash occurred immediately after the initial load before the group of NPCs around the player began moving away

Clean install/file validation after upd, or simple update on top of old version? Sounds painfully similar to what i've been encountering prior to taking a habbit of verifying files after each update :)

Issue resolved by uninstalling the game, deleting the remaining files and the Kenshi folder from its install location, then re-installing.
