So I keep getting a crash when I load the game. As soon as it loads, Kenshi crashes. I tried loading older saves, I tried importing, I tried different versions of the game, I tried Verifying Integrity. Nothing has worked.

i think its related to a broken or missing mod, something that adds a race perhaps, its related to the character "Zan", ill try and add a fallback

Ahh, that'll be my mod. I made a small mod with a custom race to make gameplay more enjoyable. But...why is it broken? I haven't done anything to it. It literally worked yesterday, didn't today.

So, an update. I saw that a popup came up on Kenshi that you can catch for half a second before the error message covers it. So I faffed a bit because the mouse cursor turns invisible and I couldn't move the error box easily, but eventually managed to shift it out of the way and got a proper look at the popup box. It says 'missing race editor limits file' for my custom race. I've, not deleted or even touched anything related to my mod, so where would this race editor limits file have gone?
Tried uploading my mod but it seems the only file in there is a .mod file. And none of my other mods are in my Mods folder - or my Data folder - but still work.

I experienced the exact same issue as you're having, even until now, and what I have been doing to "fix" it - or at least stop my game from crashing while attempting to load a save - is this...
1. Launch game & attempt to load save (knowing full well the game will crash)
2. Close game once crashing (Yes, these first two steps are necessary, so don't try to skip them)
3. Go to Kenshi in your Steam Library, open Properties
4. Open the Local Files Tab and Verify File Integrity
5. Once complete, attempt to launch game and begin the update
6. Update cannot be completed because "error message" - who cares
7. Restart your PC, and launch Steam as Admin
8. Start the update again, and it will complete
9. Launch game, and either load your save or click "continue"
10. Wullah, you should be able to load your game - even if it a huge pain in the ass
Yes, this is very tedious and frustrating to deal with, but..
It works.
