Game crashed while performing a manual save, then erased the save file it was replacing

The title pretty much says it all. I had 3 toons within the confines of a house within city limits, tried to manually save. The game crashed and when I went back in the file I was overwriting was gone. Its also possible it may have erased an autosave file too, because the most recent autosave I have listed is back about 2 hours from when this issue occurred and I have it set to autosave every 30 minutes. Quite irritating.

In addendum to my first post, and to be completely honest, I haven't been able to re-create the crash while saving. Has anyone else had the "save crash" occur, or did I just suffer extremely bad luck?
