I'm not sure but it seems like a bug

I made a mod for a custom start with 1 high level characters to start the game with. I recruited 2 more, and decided to roleplay as the good guy by helping certain factions over others when I come across them fighting.

Well, I am making my trek from sho-battai to bark and encountered starving vagrants fighting off Skimmers. I decided to attack the skimmers unprovoked to help the starving vagrants and after the skimmers are dead, I am aggro to the starving vagrants too. This is the second time this has happened when starting out in Sho-Battai, and I don't know why the starving vagrants aren't more grateful to me for killing the skimmers.

Please let me know if a bug or intended.
