1.0.50 - Crash To Desktop Approaching Certain Areas

I haven't been able to determine why it's happening, but any time I approach any number of locations in-game, it freezes up and crashes. Dust King Tower is where I've had the most trouble, and it happens every time.

Important Note: I have tried the suggested fix for an issue that sounded similar in the 'known bugs' section, and it did not help. The game continues to crash when approaching the vicinity of various settlements or regions.

Often when you get crashes specific to a region, it's a corrupt overlay file causing it. Can't guarantee it's your problem, but it's worth a shot.

Go to the overlaymaps folder: Kenshi\data\newland\land\overlaymaps

Delete all the files within, and then revalidate your files.

I've attempted the overlay deletion several times and it has not worked.

Any mods? ? If so, does the crash happen with them off?

No mods, and I've also tried uninstalling/complete deletion, restarting steam, changing the mode to borderless windowed, and several other stopgap fixes. Strangely, the more crashes in a row occur, the error dialogue that pops up starts to display longer and longer strings of chinese/japanese letters that I can't read.

Post a screenshot of the error perhaps? Might be able to run it through a translator and get some sense of what it's saying.
