Kenshi FRIED my New Geforce RTX 2060 Super in Moments.

I just built this rig 5 months ago. Everything's brand new. Kenshi just murdered my GPU and I'm so sad.

I started playing last night with the graphics on the default settings. Game seemed to run fine at first, but it wasn't long before I started experiencing graphical bugs in the form of long, sharp, flickering geometry popping in and out of everywhere. It was intermittent so I ignored it at the time, planning to take a look at the graphics settings later. I wandered away from my computer and dozed off at some point. When I came back to the game (just under 7 hours later according to Steam) Old Soldier was still alive, just kickin' it in his little hut, but the graphical issue was a bit more excited than it had previously been.

At this point I thought I'd take a look at the graphics settings. This being a powerful new machine that can run anything on max settings at 60+ FPS, I cranked the settings up like I was a member of Spinal Tap. The problem became more intense. I lowered all the sliders way back down, but the problem persisted. Here's when it happened:

When I selected the last option in the shadows drop down menu, my computer froze in such a way that I had to execute a hard reset. Upon restart, my GPU has lost it's sanity and is hallucinating sht all over MY MTHRFCKNG SCREEN. Even as I type this, lines and shapes are flashing across my screen. The deadly option I selected was an acronym that started with S and was at least 5 characters long. I didn't know it stood for "Self Destruct Graphical Processing Unit" or I wouldn't have selected it. If I recall correctly it may have come with a notation warning something like "some GPUs may freak out." I find this understatement to represent gross negligence. This card was almost $600 and it was on back order for more than 2 months. I use this computer to make a living and now I can't until the card is replaced.

A quick google search revealed that this is a common problem. How many GPUs has this game sniped? I should have just kept playing Star Citizen. That game may be buggy but at least it's beautiful and IT DOESN'T SELF DESTRUCT YOUR GPU. Now it won't even load.

Please remove the self destruct option before more people lose their GPUs to this game. Before I uninstalled I read somewhere in another notation in a menu something that ended with "it's not our fault, it's the drivers!" To whoever wrote that: It is your fault. You owe me $600USD.
