Lo-Fi Games

So I've been playing Kenshi again recently, after being intimidated by getting killed by... everything. I've finally got a little bit of combat skill and even a second squaddie, but now when I try to build a campfire to cook some meat I've collected, the game crashes when I select the Campfire in the menu.

I haven't tried building any other structures yet, as I've not really gotten the urge to build so far, but I am wont to assume this will happen with other buildings as well.

Essentially, I open the build menu using the Tool icon, select camp, and double click Campfire. The game freezes, a popup announcing the crash appears, and then Windows announces the program is unresponsive.

Anyway, here's the dump. Thanks for any help!

You seem to have some ancient material files causing problems. Delete the <kenshi folder>/data/materials folder and re-validate the game cache to download a fresh copy.

Single click only in menus. Maybe that's just it..

I did a fresh install (and only single clicked )and my Hive Prince and Scorchlander are happily drying meat.
