Ditching Resources

So, I found a very annoying thing that my characters do while in town. I go to mine a bunch of iron for strength training outside a town, then head into town for supplies. While standing at the shop counter, my character gets the goal "Ditching Resources," and proceeds to the nearest ore storage box... in a store.

Later, I buy some bread, and my character gets the same goal. So he heads to the bakery, PAST CLOSING TIME, and drops bread that I paid for into the barrel (I had left the game running, and didn't notice until I saw the shopkeeper yelling).

What is going on? I'm losing resources and food that I mined/paid for, and as long as my character is in town, they will try to dump them into the proper recepticle.

To reproduce it, buy a commodity that is traded in the town, and stand still for a while.
This happened with bread in Blister Hill, and iron ore in Stack, I believe.

Do you have any property in said towns? I'd think that if you own a building, then the whole town might be counted as "your optpost" somewhere in the code, thus the ditching.

Either way though, this doesn't seem right indeed.

P.S.:
By the way, because of your post i've figured that my translation for those "ditching" goals were incorrect :) So, thank you very much for unintentional help!

Actually having similar issue.
my squads are ditching their food. and they are running back to the base to do it.
I have a base in the hub and all my character does is run back to base and dump any food into the food storage.
While I like the idea of ditching resources, I think it should be restricted to those who have the engineer task on.
or made as a button so that we can select a group and tell them to ditch their stuff.
Either way I would not have it effect food.
