Bad lag after about a minute in game. 0.96.17

So I load and everything goes fine for a minute or two then everything starts to crunch. I've tried updating, importing and making new saves but nothing seems to help. Here is an example:

Agreed. Saturday, game was running fine. Sunday, game's lag causes it to be absolutely unplayable.
Fix?

Unfortunately I failed to reproduce the issue.
Such persistent slowdowns are often caused by an issue with a character's AI.
As importing resets all NPCs, it is more likely it is a player character causing it. Probably someone back in fat city as the guys here are not doing anything. Try checking all your characters.
If that doesn't solve it, upload kenshi.log and kenshi_info.log. There may be something there.

It happens as soon as somebody tries to build something, or I enter engineering mode. I turned off ALL mods and did an import (with buildings and research) and it still happened. Went off experimental even with building import and it is fine after 5 mins of 4x gameplay, and all the while entering engineering mode, and all my mods loaded.

Good to hear you got it working, I'll opt out of experimental and see if it fixes it for me.

I can confirm that moving to stable branch fixed the issue for me too.

Did you just opt out of experimental and it fixed the issue? Or did you do something else as well?

I made a few saves just in case then I opted out of experimental and imported the save to stable.
