Characters attacked in bed dont wake up

If a character is being chopped to bits while in bed he won't notice and wake up to either defend himself, or if he was already unconcious, fall out of bed and be unconcious and therefore be further unattackable.

I mean, you have to be a really heavy sleeper to not notice your arm getting chopped off.
