When upgrading a farm from, for example, Greendruit Small, you have to sow the fruit ("build") the farm to upgrade. If you have the crop already in the farm's inventory, you don't have to add anything and can just start "building."

The exploit comes in where you click upgrade again (to a Large Farm), then downgrade. The crop insta-plants without you having to do any work. It isn't a huge exploit, but it can add up when you are, say, upgrading ten farms at once...
