Hi

I played the demo and the version was 0.22.0 and it worked fine, loved it bought it and its all updated and now it wont even go into the loading page!

Ive updated all my drivers, installed all the correct files, ran as admin but still no result.

Any help would be welcome

UPDATE: ive reinstalled in on and off desura, and both the same thing. When I launch kesin.exe in task manager _Core.exe loads and unloads about 3 times, and dosent load, if it helps at all.

So 0.22 used to work fine? Does 0.22 still work now if you don't let it update?
What is the exact error messages/symptoms? Does it make a crash report?
Can you send me ogre.log, error.log and crashhunter.log?

Yeah i can play the 0.22.0 version if i dont update,

And basicly when i update it just dosent loads, the _core.exe loads up then gets susspended loads back up and repeats 3 times, and then nothing.

Where will I be able to find these log files?

in the games install folder, usually c:/kenshi or if desura c:\Desura\Common\Kenshi

Ok there is no dumb files. for any log files at all. Any suggetions ?

If theres no log files at all then its not even getting close to starting up. Try what I said and install 0.22.0 again, because if its something on your system then even 0.22 wont run anymore.

Ive done that allready, ive been playing that alone, but id much rahter get the new content and shizz. is there no clue of how i can get around it

Seeming as its just crashing straight away without any helpful messages its almost impossible for me to figure out. You have the desura version right? If you've only been running it from desura, try also running it straight from the _core.exe yourself. Try the latest Desura version (let desura download, but dont let in-game updater do anything) (its 0.25.4 on desura) and see if that version works. If you've only tried it on desura, try downloading the installer from here too. Try as many different versions as you can find and let me know what happens.

Right ive just done it, the same thing happend in version 0.25.4. I tried it in both desura and strait from the file directory. And niether worked.

HUZAR! version 0.24.3 works!

I cant find any later versions, hope it helps buddy

To be honest, I'm stumped. It was only small bugfixes between those versions, nothing big enough that should stop the game working.

The fact that the game doesn't start at all points to something more fundamental. Its not the game code, because thats not even getting a chance to run. And its not file damage because youve tried loads of different installs. So it has to be some kind of dependancy, not directX or physX because its not getting far enough to load them yet.

That leaves only the visual studio runtimes. Try re-installing it, and try downloading all the different visual studio runtimes that you can find. Its visual studio 2010 C++, there may be different versions available online, try installing all the variations you can find.

try this; Place a desura shortcut on the desktop > Right click on your desura desktop Icon > Open file location > Common > Kenshi > right click core_ > properties > Compatability > Run this program as administrator. Try then, and if not successful repeate to compatibity, and run as In 256 colour.

I am having the SAME problem!!! My computer is running windows 8 Beta but the game worked just fine for a while, but with one of the recent updates I can't even start the game. I have also done all the things suggested above, I even reinstalled the game twice. Help!

im on windows 8 as well, reckon it is something to do with that at all?

I'm gonna buy a cheap testing pc, with crappy HD intel graphics and multiple operating systems, then I can try things out. For the record, I recommend staying away from windows 8 if you are a gamer.

i havent had any troubles with mainstream games, its mostly indie games that im havning trouble with
