since 98.46 It appears like the hold button is not turning off the hold status.
I have tested several things and it appears that you can turn on the hold status, but it will not turn off the hold status.
When you turn it off it the ui shows that it is off, but if you reselect that character, it will show the status still turned on.

I can confirm this.

This happens to me also in the current experimental version.

I tried to solve it by the following options but it didn't work:
*Import game
*Load game without mods
*Both of the above

Apparently once you use the Hold button with one character, it won't let it go off ...

I can also say yes to this problem, this bug allowed my entire squad to be picked off one by one. F you Eyegore

Same issue. Really taking a toll on my micromanagement right now
