skill cap at 20

i bought the full game, i can recruit as many swords for hire as i can find, but all of my skills cap at 20. any help?
Yeah, I've got the same issue.
I have the most recent version (0.26.8) and my skills cap at 20.
I capped my sabre off at 20 (It never moves past 20.0177 whereas my katana still actively goes up, from 5), and my attack skill is also 20. I figured, okay, my sabre skill is maxed at 20. I used a heavy weapon, got like 4+ points in it, and sure enough my attack skill is still 20. (Note that I was fighting armies of bandits, Empire soldiers, and Holy Paladins. None of the above +'d my skills.)
If it matters any, I downloaded the demo and then bought a key using paypal. Entered the key in at the startup menu where it asks to either continue on with the trial or enter a key.
Other than this though, games superb.
**EDIT** I went and installed an old 25.4 version, and my attack skill and defence skill went over 20, to 21. So it appears that the bug is something caused by a recent patch.
