I would like to report an issue with raids and traders that arrive at my outpost.

Usually they walk up to my outpost and stop a short distance outside my base or at my gates. It only happens if I keep the gates of my outpost closed. Traders/Raiders stop for days until I open the gates. Then they walk to some spot in my base or through my whole base to another gate where the event takes place.

The problem does not occur if I keep my gates open. But in my case that's not very practical - the base is located in skinner's roam where tons of hungry bandits swarm the base and the gate guards can't stop them. I decided to report this as five different Raids/Traders waited patiently at my outpost in my last game. ;)

Have you restarted the game or done a save and reload since building the gates? This happens often when I setup an outpost there is a delay from once you build walls and gates before they seem to be recognized even if you update the pathfinding, trade caravans will often cause the most noticeable problem. Doing quicksave then quickload has always fixed it for me.

Have tried all that, including navmesh rebuild, importing, etc. Layout of the base exists for at least 100 ingame days. It seems that the Caravans and Raiders try to get to a specific gate or the base center. If the way is blocked by a gate, then they simply stop. If they finally are in the base, they sometimes have problems to leave (can't find the way out).

In hindsight building a base with 3 entrances around a three-way-crossroad probably wasn't my best idea. Funny thing is that if I remember correctly that problem did not occur in game version 0.97.6.
