Sorry I can't really provide much accurate information for this, but it seems to be a frequent problem. After a short time playing the game, I experience a crash. Doesn't seem to particularly matter where I am, or what I'm doing at the time.
Possibly an issue with the latest driver update? I've only been playing the game for a short time, and haven't tried it using older drivers. Currently using an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 and 16 GB RAM. Low texture setting--switched to that after experiencing these crashes several times, but it doesn't seem to help much.

It seems indeed related to videocard / driver / directx looking at the kenshi.log but I'm sure the Lofi-guys will be able to tell you more.
