Don't know if something is supposed to rotate this file automatically, but just noticed save.log was at 400MB. Manually renamed it, new one generated at next session/autosave. I don't know if anything reads this so unsure if it could affect anything gamewise.

actually save logs can easily reach the gigabyte size. its the game keeping tabs on every place you visited. we recommend that you import your save once and a while to reduce save file bloat.

I don't mean any part of the save folder or save files themselves - I mean the file named "save.log" in the top--level Kenshi folder, which seems to be literally a log of all game-save actions. This file is not rotated on game import. It's just a plaintext log file, but it seems to grow infinitely. Excerpt:

The file seems to contain different kinds of messages. There are blocks of errors in there too, unsure if they're related to any problems I've ran into in my playtime but I am playing with Proton through Steam... So, just in case, I uploaded my save.log to Mega: https://mega.nz/file/2kZyhb4J#DRf89Bk92 ... AOy68QGgNk

....yes, the file "save.log" is a log of all save-related actions. That's known. The issue is that, for me at least on 1.0.55, it is never "rotated," which is the process of closing a log file/archving/deleting the old ones, and starting a new one, so that a single log file does not grow infinitely.
And that's what seems to be happening here. I have a "save.log" file that is plain text and 400 MB. That's a lot of text.... nothing seems to be closing the log and starting a new one.

I wasn't... My post wasn't really directed at you, more for moderators to pass on to dev or dev to just see for themselves. I wasn't saying it is A or is B. I understand the file just grows indefinitely, not sure what you thought I was saying.spacefiddle wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 9:50 am....yes, the file "save.log" is a log of all save-related actions.
