Lo-Fi Games

I had an ASUS mobo running a Ryzen3 with a RTX 570 on Windows 10 and I must say I was enjoying the game. I was over 150 hours in when the screen went blank and the computer shut off. The mobo will turn on but will not post now even after removing the battery and resetting the bios.

Then, because I lack sanity and was enjoying the game I decided to load it up on my backup mobo with the same RTX570 and the screen went black and the computer shut down as soon as the game loaded.

Let me know if you want specs on that mobo that blew up or any details you might think of to help avoid this in the future, and possibly get that mobo to post again.

that would not be caused by the game sadly.
that would be a hardware issue.
you just happened to be unlucky in the fact you tried to play Kenshi and your hardware decided to fail.

only time i ever in my life seen software damage a computer was due to a virus made to do just that.

hardware can fail when.
repeated stress from overclocking
hardware not fully seated in the slots
a fault in the hardware
not cleaning the computer vents. ( or the inside of the computer )
heat stress ( a video game that puts lots of stress could possibly make it overheat. though that would be very rare and would require the computers ability to remove heat at near zero )
age
High static days, and touching your computer without grounding yourself first. ( this is rare, though i have done it least once )

as a side note, heat stress is monitored by the computer, if it gets to hot, it should shut itself down to prevent damage. its very rare this option fails and heat damages or destroys computer parts.
