Lo-Fi Games

So whenever I try to save or quicksave the game stalls, then crashes. I already did a full and complete install and since Steam saves all saves to a cloud, I reloaded my old save. The same problem still occurred. What's going on and how can I fix it?

Well, unfortunately there is nothing of note in the logs to help track down what caused it.

As a side note, Kenshi does not support cloud saves, and Steam is not backing them up. They are simply not kept in the installation folder by default, and so are not removed on uninstall. But you would not for instance be able to access the saves from another computer like you would if it was cloud saved.

Look, I got a lot of joy out of this game and I don't mind a crash here or there. However, when a highly rated game's tech staff's response to a major problem with the game is "I'm sorry, we don't have a solution for you. Please fix it yourself" I have to draw a line.

I think it's time I make Kenshi a fond memory. It's a great game, but this is the final straw in terms of bugs.

First of all, I am not staff in any way. I'm a normal customer just like you, that just helps out on their forums in my free time. I do not have any special resources or tools to solve problems, nor do any of my responsibilities include responding to bug reports, I was just trying to offer some advice.

Secondly, not much anyone can do when the logs have no info. No error was recorded in any of the files I can access in that dump. The guide I linked to is one that I wrote specifically to diagnose the most common crashes, and how to fix them. Since there were no recorded errors, you are literally the only person who can do anything to figure out what is wrong.

Ahem ... so my bad. I figured it out. Turns out a mod called GenMod was causing the saving bug. Just thought you should know and I do thank you for your time.
