Problem:
2560x1440 fullscreen is incorrectly displaying 4k resolution.

System Specs:
Windows 11
AMD Radeon RX7900 XTX,
Monitors = 2 LG 32" 2560x1440 240hz screens (model 32GQ850-B), only 1 monitor is used for gaming.
CPU Intel 13700K
Ram 32 Gig 6200mhz Gskill Trident

Steps to reproduce:
On config launch leave the system on fullscreen, set resolution to 2560 x 1440, vSync off, Monitor 1. Save config, press ok.
On game launch, the monitor will identify that Kenshi is displaying 4K resolution, not 1440p. Game boxes are not displayed with correct aspect ratio, the monitor has correctly identified that the resolution displayed is not what it supports.

I quit out and checked config again, confirming resolution. I also tried changing the resolution in game and relaunching with no effect.
Workaround: Switch Fullscreen to Borderless in config, game launches with correct resolution.

always use borderless. fullscrean has known issues.
plus the game wasn't made with 4k in mind.

I'm glad to know what I'm not the only one with this issue. Please update the known issue sticky to include it, I did check that before posting. It would be worth telling people the work around to save them time.

Ideally the issue would be fixed, but if not, setting that resolution could lock the game to borderless. That change wouldn't be too hard to make.

I do want to point out this was 2560x1440 resolution, not 4K. 4K seems like it would have worked.

Steam has a 2 hour refund window, the more time people spend messing around with bugs the less time they spend falling in love with the game. I have refunded games in the past because I spent too much time messing with technical issues when I just wanted to play a game. Encountering technical issues before playing is never a good sign.

the known issues sticky is not being updated as many issue's stem from the games engines.

also the game has a Demo that's pinned here and on the steam site.
try before you buy.
