Issues with building. Please help.

The issue is not being able to build in the current version. IDK what happened, I was able to build for the longest time, then all of a sudden it just stopped working. I have unsubscribed from and turned off all mods, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, verified the game files, used the in game editor, used the in game nav mesh fixer, loaded a back up, and eventually tried older versions. The ONLY thing that worked was loading older versions which means no mods and just lower quality over all. I can click on the hammer, have the thing I want to build show up green, then nothing happens when I press to place it. Please help, this is driving me mad.

when you uninstalled, you made sure everything was deleted? the main folder was gone?
its also possible you have a mod conflict as well.
