Frequent crashes with no pattern [STEAM v1.0.64]

Hello,

I'm new to the game (I installed it a few days ago through steam) and I'm running 100% vanilla (no mods). Since "day 1", I've had constant crashes in apparent random situations - i.e. no specific pattern I've noticed.
Sometimes it says I've ran out of video mem, sometimes it just says it crashed.
The crashes happen in random intervals as well (sometimes it's a minute or two, sometimes it plays for 20+ minutes)
Not sure if it's useful, but whenever the game crashes I see spikes of 3D activity in the system monitor for the GPU, but it doesn't seem like it peaked to max GPU memory :?

I've attached 2 crash zips to hopefully help understand the issue

What I've tried:
- reduced the graphic settings (texture quality, view distances, etc) quite a lot, but I think if I reduce further it will be unplayable
- Verify integrity of the files via the steam UI
- installed the latest drivers

None of the above helped

System info:
- Windows 10
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M (driver version 552.22)

Any help would be appreciated

First thing I'd try is reinstalling/updating graphics drivers. You also might try disabling shader caching for Kenshi in the Nvidia control panel.

Also might be worth trying this mod here, it has helped some users with rendering crashes before, so it would be worth a shot. To install it, just extract the dll files into your Kenshi folder.

I disabled the shader cache but it did not seem to improve stability.
The recommended mod made all the difference :)
