0.22 to 0.33 ingame text disappeared, help?

I haven't played Kenshi in a long time and decided to check out the latest updates. I redownloaded the game from GamersGate where I initially purchased it. Once it installed, the render options pop-up appeared, at the same time the Updater appeared.

So I set it updating and closed the config window. After it downloaded another ~600mb worth of updates, I launched the game, but now all of the buttons in the game are lacking text.

What can I do to fix this? I really don't fancy downloading the entire game again, I'm on limited bandwidth... :/

Never heard of this problem before. I'm pretty sure it's never been reported. I'm sorry to tell this but all I can think of is that you have to remove the files from your computer and re-download. This time from official lo-fi games site and it might work.

Have you tried launching the game again? Did you use shortcut when you launched it and did you try launching it straight from Kenshi folder?

Oddly enough, I just fired up the game this moring and the buttons display properly now. Maybe I just needed to restart for some reason. I had a bunch of Windows Updates that day, too.
