I just bought a copy of Kenshi, but sadly it doesn't work.
I downloaded the Kenshi 0.29.6 through the gamefront link and updated it to 0.33.0. I got through the Kenshi setup and OGRE Engine Rendering setup (I just went with the default options). The game then "crashes" without even starting and I get the message telling me to find the crashDump.zip and send it here, but I can't find the damn thing.
Any help on how to find it/setup Kenshi to create one or to simply fix the game would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the help.

It should be under your main Kenshi folder. You'll either have a crashdump.zip OR a crashdump.dmp depending on where in the program it crashes. If it's a .dmp, you'll need to zip it up and then upload it

Unfortunately, I'm still not seeing it.

It's probably my fault for choosing a custom install location. I'll reinstall the thing in the default location.

Custom location shouldn't be a problem. Try loading the game up again and seeing if you can recreate the crash

Recreate the crash? No problem.
First, I start up Kenshi:

Then, I click "OK" in the first setup menu:

Then I click "OK" in the second setup menu (second image included to show you all the settings):

Then it crashes immediately:

I've reinstalled it now, so I'll try running it again. I'll also keep an eye on the Task Manager to see if the process pops up at all.

Yeah. Running from the default location fixed it. Time to play and thanks for the support!

Out of curiosity, where was the default location?

C:\Kenshi. I put it in Program Files (x86) and then in a separate folder I called lofigames, to keep things organised. It might not have been the location that fixed it, but I had reinstalled it before, but I got the same problem.

I mucked up the question i had meant to ask then
I meant to ask where had you installed it originally, but you said program files, so theres ya problem
Program Files can be notoriously bad for games, or programs that move files around, or even installing mods, because of something called User Account Control. Most likely it was down to UAC stopping Kenshi from generating the needed files causing the crash
I used to have tons of problems with it when i used to mod oblivion!

I see. I've never had any problems with it before, but to be honest, I don't really care where the file goes. Thanks for the help anyway. I'll be back when I have a real bug to report to you!
