Weapon Smithing output bug.

Okay, so I was producing weapons and such, but as I was going to add my newly made club to inventory i missklicked outside of any inventory and the club vanished. I shrugged it of, seeing as this happens with all type of production if you make that mistake and it probably been reported before.

but it was then the real annoying bug began. As of now, anything produced at any smithy only have their output zone if it is empty when I select the smithy and that I have to right click the zone(that is empy) to get the weapon that is supposed to be finished to appear in it. If I open the smithy when something have already been finished the output zone is gone and there is no way to retrieve my crafted weapon. And if I start a new working on a new weapon the previous weapon vanishes into thin air.

Unlike last time I tried reporting a bug I actually tried restarting the game, however that didn't seem to work.

I also want to thank you Chris for this new epic patch.(still a little sour that most of my awesome weapons turned into absolute junk at the patch, but at least I can make myself some new and better ones)

Yep, was just about to post about this.

Sometimes I can snag the item out just in time, other times it closes the window and is gone when you reopen it.

On the side though, awesome update, still researching all the goodies in here, so much content! Great job Chris! And thanks for getting it before Monday :)

I am sure he will iron this out in the next mini patch. (no pun intended)

EDIT - At first I thought he was quickly sneaking it into an Armory somewhere when I wasn't looking. I had put two weapon stands in there with him in hopes he would just stock that. Obviously that would be idealistic :)

EDIT EDIT --- It seems to mostly happen when you que up multiple units. If you do one at a time it is easier to catch the product and save it.

Well, when I noticed that the patch when you could smith blades was out, I cut to the chase to try it.(pun intended)

However as you say easier to catch it, well yes, but If he finishes without having the window open the thing is unobtainable, even if you don't que.

At the moment, i just que high level blades just so that my character will level smithing.

Aw well. Like you said, it will probably very soon get sorted out.

Yep, running into this too, Chris will release a patch to address it soon I'm sure. Thankfully I haven't encountered any new bugs other than that, and several old issues have been addressed so other than the smithing output issue this patch has been relatively problem free for me.

For what its worth, I'll leave what my observations are down here.

Weapon Smithing Bench builds properly, Weapon smith stat gains experience and levels properly, Weapon smith properly gathers materials from storage and ore mine output.
Weapon Smithing Bench output will only produce a physical product when:

1. Weapon Smithing Bench is selected and Input/Output is visible upon completion of weapon
2. When constructing a queue of multiple weapons, each completed weapon will immediately vanish upon completion (assuming this is to make room for the following weapon in queue)
3. Do not de-select the Weapon Smithing Bench while Output has a weapon visible or it will vanish
4. Move Output to character's inventory before de-selecting Weapon Smithing Bench
5. Selecting other characters de-selects the Weapon Smithing Bench, thus causing vanishing weapons as well, so you are forced to move the Output into the currently selected PC's inventory.

Using the Weapon Smithing Bench II

It uses fabric and iron ore for a normal sword, while bench I only uses ore for the same item

Also, I retrieved a katana (despite the issue with vanishing items) and it seems like the graphics are a mix between a katana and a horse chopper.

Okay, I think you're correct. So all I gotta do is follow #2.

But in advance, the devs should just make the output grid bigger rather than just the individual.

Also when you research all weapon upgrades you need a scroll bar to be able to choose from full range of buildable weapons.

Unless I am missing something, the scrollbar is there, you just have to click and hold it to drag it down to get through the item list.

This is also an issue, but there is a separate post about it here:

I think he meant they should make it where it does that and I'm also having the same problem where it disappears but the above solutions worked so thank you. :)

also I'm noticing that the some of the crafted weapons pictures are melded together as well. It looks like weapons I previously tried to make that disappeared. For instance I was making a Ringed then a fragment axe and then ringed disappeared and then when the fragment axe was done the top of half of the pic was ringed while the bottom and center was fragment axe not sure if it was coincidence or not. I am gonna try to reproduce again to see if it occurs again. I don't know if that even matters to fixing the bug or not just thought it might so here I am.

Edit. Ok it does seem to take the first and second weapons pic and meld them together still don't know if this matters or not cause I edited this with in a few min of original post.

Fear not fellas, you can actually get the weapon you are crafting if you slow the speed down open inventory and right-click where the weapon is about to appear, works 1/4 times :) haha also need default location for weapon stacking if making tons, like a weapon stand? Storage for material, food and booze would be great or something like a stacking waypoint to a container.
The last thing is more of a question - does trading work? My city is being visited by caravans like crazy but no one buys the crap on my shelves :)

From what I've seen, weapon stands do not stack weapons. That has only occurred in Trader Backpacks.
There used to be Booze Barrels for storing rum, but the best place for storing goods is in your Shop Counters for the time being. Although, Ore, Flour, Stone, and Building Mats do have functioning storage boxes.

Trading does not work for the moment, although I'm sure Chris is already well on the way to implementing that into the game. I would suggest for the time being to just have a couple or so guys ferry finished goods off to the closest NPC town to trade. Even if the prices are low, it technically didn't cost you any catans to produce, so its all pure profit.

I tried to watch it carefully with the window open and the guy's inventory open but once it reached completion, the weapon craft table closed on it's own and I couldn't reopen it until I clicked on some other item! Of course, by then, the weapon was gone!

Technically true, and I suppose it is a bug, but if you stack weapons in a traders backpack you can use shift move to move stacks into weapon racks.

Did you have multiple items queued? This tends to happen when you've got more than one item queued for production on that bench.

Just discovered a peculiar update. The Fragment Axe, Industrial 007 is unaffected by this issue.

EDIT: AND Katana-light, Industrial 007. Seems to be a pattern here. I will continue exploring.

EDIT EDIT: The queue is also functional now. Had 3 Katana-light, Industrial 007 queued up. He completed the first, and it remained in the output slot (regardless of de-selecting or any of my previously mentioned notes) until I removed it. Then he began production of the next sword in queue. Great work Chris! Sneak attack update! ;D

EDIT OUT: It appears that update 42.1 has fixed this issue.

Still have a minor issue with the weapon's bench post 42.1.

When I try and transfer a finished weapon into the inventory it sometimes vanishes in mid-transfer. I have looked around the bench to see whether they had been dropped but simply can't find them. Looks like they vanish into thin air.
