Picked up bodies are dropped after reload

I have a very annoying problem with the bodies I pick up. I'm trying to make a little cash and managed to capture a bandit boss. I took a very, very long time to find a town with a police station (I didn't find it actually), so long that I captured three more bosses on the way. But I reloaded the game after that, and I saw that the bodies were dropped by my squad. Two of the bosses just dashed away without letting me a chance to place only one hit on them, the limping rest didn't seem to be that bothered by the guy slashing with his sabre at them. Now, all my money is gone, and I'm still townless and policeless, which is kinda sad ...
