I was playing kenshi, made a new game as a wanderer for a bit of a challenge, everything was fine for a while. Then I noticed my guy moving faster than normal, as if he were stuck on 4x speed, while everyone else was normal. I checked his athletic skill, it was at 2; his speed, was at 250. His speed went up to about 700, before I decided it was ridiculous to be flying around the map.

When I noticed his speed increase, his attack and defence decreased, so I think it might be a bug in encumberance. I don't expect a fix, but that would be nice, though it might just be me. In which case, has anyone else had this happen? aka unexplained negative effects on attack & defence stats, as if you were encumbered, or seen their character speed up for pretty much no reason?

Glitch typically occurs after picking up loot, and then selling it, there might be another thing affecting it, though I'm not sure.

-30 attack (yes I know the affected character is 70% encumbered here, but that didn't affect him at all in game.):

That sounds hilarious   One hyper active, caffeine addict just running around and flying above the ground

At least I haven't heard of this bug before nor it has never occurred to me. Do you still have the save where the bug is taking place? Zip it and attach it on your post. That way I think Chris can get to the information he needs to fix the problem. Although, I wouldn't mind if it's not fixed before I can see this miracle myself in my own game

There have been issues with extremely fast characters in the past, however reproducing the issue has proven problematic, making it rather difficult to address. It seems to be a fairly rare issue from what I gather, and I think can be corrected by picking the character up and putting them back down. If we could get some steps to reproduce this issue reliably it would likely prove much easier to see what exactly is going on.

I had a similar glitch yesterday. One character suddenly started running at speed 400. I saved there so that I'd have a file to upload, but when I reloaded my save to check it restored him back to normal speed.
Steam version 0.47.
As per my other bug report I did a File validation after this incident and found that "2 files did not pass validation and needed to be re-downloaded".
If nothing else you can save/load after traveling at anime speeds and see if that corrects it.

I'll try to record my game the next time I play, though it isn't just one character. Its all of them on that save, I'll start a new game to see if its just them, or if its deeper inside the game.

Sorry if this would already be called necromancy but i have a close problem to this.

I can upload a savegame other time if needed, in my case the stats which change are simply the attack and defense, no other, but they gho lower than they should, and this seemed to happen with all characters, one should be lowered due to backpack, but none negative, and both were, even on other character which i had nothing decreasing on defense, by the opposite was a + bonus, and besides that nothing was reducing, it showed negative defense.

I think it's all because of the auto arrange button. Every time you press it the bonuses in the gear you wear will "build up."

Say, you wear nothing but the wooden sandals. If you start spamming the auto arrange button you dexterity will skyrocket and you will dash through the desert with speed of light.

If you have a tin can in your head and spam the auto arrange button your defense will be huge but your attack will be minus one hundred...

I seen a post with that afterwards but i not sure f could be so, as i had positive as a bonus for defense, and it went negative.
