Shadows makes ground not render.

So when i changed my graphic settings to have shadows on and started a new game the ground got...well i will let the screenshots do the talking. I pulled up a separate save o see if it was just the save and i also restarted several times throughout this process. I eventually did figure out that it was the shadows setting and turned it off....This fixed my problem but on my new save i no longer control any people. (I only had the character i created because i just started) Overall this didn't really hinder me much because i figured it out and it was a new save but i could see this being quite unpleasant to someone who wasn't starting fresh.
