What's the problem?
I can't access my main save file anymore because it crashes everytime I load it. It doesn't even give me a second, it just crashes the instant it loads.

What Version:
The Latest version, the December update (12/12/2013)

What Happened?
I don't know what exactly tiggered it. What I remember was that I was trying to build my own outpost with two people. I placed a small shack but I realized I don't have any building materials on me. So I dismantled my outpost. I thought about sending one guy to the city to buy stuff while the girl goes out looting. When I saw a bunch of sand bandits fighting with cannibals I thought of scratch my original plans and loot all the dead people(I know that sounds terrible). I was looting the dead until I saw cannibals were getting close and I was desperately get all the loot and start to ran then the cannibals start to chase really fast. my girl character almost died until I drop all the loot then I crashed! Luckily I saved before that so I tried to reload but now I start crashing every time I load on that save file.

(I thought might cause it? not sure)Things I did were major:
-my character is wanderer
-both character are boy and girl(I got the girl from the one of town bars)
-I used the training dummies for like forever till I got melee lvl 4
-tried out to build an outpost
-kept looting an enormous amout of dead bodies.
-bought a lot of armor and clothing and some of them I dropped by accident. The clothes do not disappear at all, they just stuck in midair and I can't pick them back up (had to reload)
-uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... lured a bunch of cannibals and bandits to cities and literally everyone came out to fight, and the citizens all ran outside.

This is pretty much everything I last remember before the crashes. I hope this isn't too much. I apologize if it is. I really hope this crash gets fixed shortly or soon. I really want to go back and play my main save so badly. I don't want to start a new save because it will take time and I don't want to go through the same crash loads on the new save.

P.S I bought the Game fairly recent like somewhere in December 20-27. So I already gotten the updates , so the fresh re-install won't make any sense to me.

I'll try out your save I guess in the mean try Re-validate the Game Cache (if you use steam of course), that seems to fix files apparently every time the game crashes it damages files. Also If i get your save working I'll try moving you somewhere and saving and then uploading the file to see if it fixes it, who knows it could work!

Alright I downloaded/extracted and opened up kenshi but I get what you get I guess I'll try Import game not sure if you want that thought because it usually means getting rid of any buildings you created.

Alright so I guess this is kinda fixed (not sure if you had any buildings) I just imported your game including research. I think what may have caused the bug is dropping an item on the ground, I can still drop a medic kit on the ground to cause a crash (I'm under the assumption the reason for this is because there is no actually model for a medic kit and the game cannot render it so it causes this thrown exception) anyways I'd have to say be careful dropping things on the ground that you think won't have a model (trade goods and similar stuff).

That is fantastic thank you so much. I didn't know about dropping items, I just dropped them because they were too heavy and they were slowing down my characters. I almost caused my characters to die from attacking bandits. I didnt have any buildings because I just started then I crashed. Anyways thanks again and I hope these stuff will be fixed. Should I still do the repair chaches?

Hmm maybe I'd say just do it every now and then I notice what it does it check files to see if they are altered so in the case of screen resolution it resets to 1280 x 720 but I use 1920 x 1080 and if that's changed it says that it needs to re-download the settings folder I assume that's the same for the quick save/load and the current save. So if you take out those 2 files if you go to do it and there's more then I guess (oh unless you have mods installed that's another file) you have damaged files. (I had I think 8 or 9 at one point and doing that made it so crashes didn't happen at all). It could actually fix the Item dropping bug that you seem to have. I thought maybe you dropped a med kit but I'm guessing it was a sword or some armor they have actually meshes because they need to when you equip them but act weird (you'll seem a chest plate floating where a chest would usually be).

Another long post lol so yeah just for the benefit of the doubt verify/re-validate game cache.

Wow thank you for the replies and the help. This helped a lot, and yeah the game tends to crash often. But alpha is alpha so I am not angry at all. I have to say that this is game is fantastic and I can't wait for it to be fully released.

P.S. I have the same problem again. The crash after loading so at this point I am just going to wait until they patch it out. I even verified with the game chaches and still nothing.

Having the same problem. Did a fresh install and started over with 3 new games one after the other, after a certain time it gives me an error and wont load. It sucks because i enjoy this game very much, but after the new update it has become unplayable. hopeful for a patch soon. Dont give up on us chris

new patch v0.58.4 is out and fixes alot of the loading crashes.
