Super Crash
Although I really like the game, the crashes makes it just so unplayable. i tried everything to stop it from crashing, but nothing works. set it to force single threading, cept verifying the files, etc. it crashes like every 3 minutes, sometimes even sooner. every time it crashes, it says it fails to write a dump file, so sorry if I can't be very specific. even worse, I don't know what makes it crash. i'm not in buildings, not building anything, not fighting, not mining, nothing, yet it still crashes in about 3 minutes since i start playing. if i had an hour of game time before it crashes, i wont really complain, but every 3 minutes? i can't do anything in that short time.
Please fix this quick.

they are working on fixing the super crash.
The super crash is caused by a memory leak with what is believed to be the current pathing engine. Next patch they should hopefully replace it with a new one fixing the super crash.
We welcome you to the forums but since you didn't provide much info on your crash ( I.E. ) a crash report there is not much they can do. or what you did to try and stop it on your own.
We also ask that you use search before posting. you will then notice this has been addressed recently many times. including some possible ways to slow the crashes down.
For one, turn NPC and pop sliders back to default levels.
don't run your game at 4x speed, it speeds up crashes.
As for the crash in 3 minutes, we need more info because most people it starts crashing in 30 minutes to several hours.
If the crash is a super crash and you're crashing in 3 minutes then there is something seriously wrong and the Devs need that info from your crashdump.zip report so they can find out what's wrong and try and fix it.
THank you. and hope to hear more info on your issue.

the thing is, yes, i did see many others complain about it, but as i read, they play about an hour before their game crashes. that I wont have to much trouble with. i tried fixing it myself. i tried the force single thread, i ran it as administrator, i put quality down, repeatedly did the verifications, downloaded 3 times. when i downloaded the second time, i put it into the program files, and it actualy seemed to work a little better. then i can play about 5-8 minutes, but still crashes very often. i redownloaded it, didn't put it in program files, but still crashes. after a little testing, i figured out that the more party members i have, the faster it crashes. the about the crash itself: it gives an error no.183 , but fails to write a crash dump file. i would give the crash dump file, if it actualy wrote it...
i know im giving little info, but sadly its all i have. im sorry that i cant give more info.

Looks like the update accidentaly fixed it partly, now it actualy writes a dump file. I attached it , i hope it is of use.

Ok, so even with the crash every 3 minutes or so, i was still making some progress. but now, i cant. i even timed it. from when i start playing til it crashes: 46 seconds. and when i say force single tread, it doesn't help at all. it just loads longer, and then i have less time to play. this is really starting to make me angry, cause the little time i do play it, its very fun. i have more info tho on the crashes. when i verify the files, it now reacquires 3, where as before the update, it only reacquires 2. so in the newest update, i would think there is also a bug.(just guessing, i could be wrong.) i also attached a new file, since the size is different, so i believe its different in some way.
and lately, i tried pretty much everything i can think of to fix it. left everything default (eg. graphics, V-sync, etc.) , ran as administrator, re downloaded the entire thing , even used my anti-virus software out of despiration and still no diffirence.

can you run a dxDiag and zip up the report and post it as well.
one of the techies here might see something and be able to help you better.

Have you had similar trouble running any other programs?
I have two hunches to give you.
Your tech looks pretty advanced to be running a 32-bit OS, but I doubt the OS is the reason Kenshi is crashing. Although from a tech-geek perspective, upgrade to a 64-bit OS.
My second hunch, and more likely your problem, are those video drivers looking incredibly old. When was the last time you updated your video card?
AMD HD 7xxx Series Win7 32-bit Drivers
Use the non-Beta drivers first to see if that resolves your problem.

new video drivers aint working...
dont have this problem with any other game, only kenshi has this problem...
im feeling rather sad now... realy want to play the game...
i'll just wait for the new pathing engin to come, maybe that'll fix it.
i'm atleast glad you are trying to help, and i say thanks alot.

Have you tried compatibility with XP? Since you are already running Windows 7, running compatibility with itself might cause issues with the OS.Aldutere wrote:I had an idea, so I tried now to set its compatibility to windows 7, but then it doesnt work at all.
Alright, so Compatibility Mode needs to be off for you to launch Kenshi.
Hrmm..
Have you tried running Windows Updates to get the latest, if anything, from Microsoft?
Ran any "computer cleaning" programs recently?
Whenever it crashes does it give you any information about the error code? (error code 183 is the super crash related to memory leaks, anything else than that would be good)
Are you able to generate a crash dump with 0.65.1?
