Okay this happened after I used the SHIFT+F12 feature and used POPULATE and RE-PATH feature and than clicked SAVE and after this I chose EXIT.
Doing this totally destoryed my save, well the game did not load my squad anymore (luckely I had an old backup of before I did this).
That all aside whenever I load any game now regardless of new game or loading an existing save the initial load (loading when you start) suddenly takes like 1 to 2 mins where it was done in 15 secs at most at first. (An IMPORT of the save also does this).
I have deleted the game (DELETE LOCAL CONTENT on steam and EMPTY the Kenshi folder besides the save folder in Kenshi folder) and put back the save again but will do that in a moment and update the information again. If after the update the saves do not work I will upload them (or a quicksave or whatever is required).
Before stuff is asked about my game settings (all for combating the memory leak thingy):
Full Screen: No
Multi Device Memory Hint: Use minimum system memory
Redering Device: Monitor-1-AMD Radeon 6900 series (is a HD6970 with 2GB VRAM)
I play @ 1600x900 (32-bit color)
Vsync: No
View Distance: 10000
Terrain Detail Range: 0
Grass View Range: 0
Grass Density: 0
Foliage View Range: 0
NPC View Range: 6500
Texture Quality: Fugly
Water Reflection: None
Shadow Quality: 1025 (poor)
Shadows Enabled: Checkbox Cleared (so shadows should be off)
Shadow Range: 1000
I know the View Distance and NPC View Range are higher than normal but so far I never had problems with these.
Audio: Everything @ 0 (although I have to set VO Volume to 0 each time because each game startup it automatically sets itself to 0.5).
On General Options I have the Squad size multiplier and Global population multiplier at 1.0 (default) I actually have all the option on General Options on default.

Okay so after deleting the local files and importing my save to a new game the load times became normal again (Import was probably not necessary).
But that brings me to the question: What does SHIFT+F12 destroy in the local files if you use POPULATE and RE-PATH and than SAVE and EXIT (verify game cache did not find any errors after scanning, aka after I did this).
But deleting the local DATA using the steam DELETE LOCAL CONTENT (and afterwards emptying the Kenshi folder of everything besides the save folder in there). And than installing Kenshi again fixed this problem. For now I just know never to use SHIFT+F12 besides maybe building some unimpleted stuff but I might refrain from using it altogether.
So everything aside never use the POPULATE feature in combination with the RE-PATH feature and than SAVE on the SHIFT+F12 feature unless you want to destroy your squad and make game loading times increase by x5-x10. (From own experience).
I do not know if this is reproducable (but I suspect it is) as I'm not really willing to do this again and creating a extra SAVE and than having to delete all the local Kenshi content again and redownload it.
Long INITIAL long load times [fixed beside the cause]
I have avoided using Shift + F12 because that is essentially modifying embedded code both within gamedata.base as well as in your save file, which, as you've found, pretty much ruins your game.
I have always assumed that this was meant to be specifically a debugging tool to be used by the devs to test other issues.
Sorry I can't be more helpful, but it seems you managed to fix your issue already so...
Carry on LT!

I can explain what happened, sorta. The problem wasn't really the populate button, so much as the consequences of using that game editor. Give this thread a quick read if you have the time: Cannibals Took Over my Base.
Basically, when you make changes with that editor, it causes the changes to occur on the game's map data, instead of on the save file's map data. It'll also pull your constructed outposts onto the map, so that it'll appear in all of your games, even new ones. The populate button will create NPC spawns in the town /outpost near where you put it. Loading from this can cause your squad to seemingly be replaced by the NPCs it spawns. So it would have also increased your load times because it would spawn more people on every import, and load in your old outpost.
