[0.9.10] Theft Chance is not even remotely accurate

playing a female Shek who has lvl 46 Thievery, the theft chance does not show me an accurate value.

I am mentioning a lot of the same material from my last post because it happened at the same time: I am on the second floor of the bar in "The Hub" and no one else is up there. When I am undetected and have unlocked the chest furthest from the bartender I am checking my theft chances in the chest.

my Issue:all the items in the chest have a theft chance greater than 100%; Items such as katanas sit at 128%. HOWEVER when I attempt to steal the item regardless of a greater than 100% chance, I still fail...very often.

I have tried reloading, closely watched the stealth meter to make sure I am undetected while looting, and made sure that I wait a while after unlocking the chest before opening it.

Very odd, whenever i've had a theft chance over 100% in previous versions it has never failed. Must be some new issue.

I have a similar issue also when it comes to Picking locks, even though it says 50% I have to try up to 9 times rather often to succeed. that is some really rotten luck or a frustrating random generator.

It is more unlikely for this to not happen in 100 tries with a 50% chance. Our human monkey brains have a very odd perception of probability, so it feels odd when it happens, but if its not happening the game isnt really making 50% coinflips.

I've had the same things happen since 0.9.1. stealing with 100% chance or more, doesn't guarantee a success.

I've also noticed that quite often when my stealth meter is on blue and i'm standing behind a shopkeeper to lockpick a chest, he often spots me immediately. even though the stealth meter shows me i'm completely hidden and the shopkeeper looks in a different direction. Although this only seems to happen when i'm close to a shopkeeper.
