Game survey
On the subject of tolls and balancing, I have a few ideas.
One thing that nobody seemed to mention was that factions will have their own goals, methods, and (hopefully) scruples. While one faction may allow free passage throughout their lands, another faction may charge extremely high taxes to enter their cities and use the roads they control. Being a citizen of a given city/faction should also play a role in whether or not you get taxed, since nobody should have to pay a toll to get into their home city after a long day of smashing bandits.
One major issue with balancing I've seen is in the fact that you can just save your game, then start a new game and import your squad and all of your problems go away. You could be a notorious criminal, but as soon as you import your squad everyone forgets. Perhaps one of the things you import should include your status with each faction. I don't know if the import feature is intended to stay, but I think it would be nice to keep in the final game in case something goes horribly wrong (like a gang of super-bandits destroying all of your favorite towns/cities
) as long as it doesn't allow the player to escape the consequences of their own actions. Also, I think if the player is under attack when they save their game they should not be allowed to import their squad. Of course, if you're being attacked by super-bandits, importing may be your only hope for survival.

Currently there are no consequences for importing. Shortly (current beta tested update) there will be permanent structures and rudimentary base-building. Import and its lost. Suddenly, I might want to rethink pressing that import button.

Well as far as cost goes for a small house or something maybe around 5-15k (something like skyrim kinda). Now I don't know when the day and night cycle will come out and how long a cycle will be, but when it comes out maybe three days (game time obviously) would take to erect such a small structure and maybe in future builds we can add "extensions" onto the house like extra floors and or rooms so you can have a medium size business going on instead of having to just go buy a 25-50k building to get something a little bigger. Of course this will take time as well (maybe not as long as the building its self but like Chris said it shouldn't happen over night). And maybe to add a little bit more realism to the game the higher the level the NPC (or if you can get your own people to do it) in building or whatever the skill will be named, the faster construction will go as they know what to do(however it won't be a huge chip off time as if you want a strong wall you can't just do it to fast or it'll crumble while you lean against lol!)
adds some politicians, problem solved, extreme poverty forever

All I need to make my fortune are about 3 guys at around 30 points for fighting (in each area), and I can make a ton of money very quickly just by looting swords.

is 110000c a lot for around 30-50min or so of hunting caravans? most of the time took looting and sorting stuff, slightly hard to sell it afterwards, since you have to become friendly with the traders again to be able to sell again
This was only in weapon, not the merchandise.

I made my money so easily it felt like cheating. It was kind of cheating
I went to Capital and attacked the mercenarys guild. Free traders came to help and killed them all. I was like lvl 10 when I figured that out but it can be done earlier by blocking or running to safety while they are fighting. Until then I was kind of poor.
Anyway. When the battle was over I collected the loot, sold it and gained over 80k + lots of building materials on one run and it took me like 5-10 min. And it can be done as many times u like by importing squad etc. And now I'm stinking rich and dunno what to do with all the money.

Dear Mr Kenshi guy and his royal beard. Please be fast and add the hookers, casinos and *CENSORED* on next update so I can start spending extra cash. And the women would be nice too, I don't want to spend it on male hookers who all look like me -_-Blxz wrote:Kamos has the right idea.Santaissick wrote:And now I'm stinking rich and dunno what to do with all the money.

I do believe that the bees vs PlEs censorship might be a little tricky for the new members.kamos said: Did you mean *CENSORED*?

nah i think he used the censorship to his advantage. He probably meant other stuff than be es, more curvy stuff or bumpy, who knows
You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.
Need help? pm me or any other mod.
I'm not sure if I'm just not looking hard enough but the amount of time I spend to get money seems reasonable. Trading does seem to be the way to go, but I think a way to make it more interesting would be to implement a system where the more trade goods your carrying the bigger a target you are for bandits. I think something like that would make running trade goods between cities more interesting when the game gets a bit further in development.

While the "appear at a certain level" would work with most game and normally most game do now, this would completely betray Chris's whole reason for this game, showing companies how to do it right lol, he states not limiting the player and not having the world revolve around you, this would cause the world to see you and make changes according to you (the player).nuget102 wrote:it seems the majority of the reason people get so rich is because they get a bit over powered....now i'm not saying put a level cap, that would kinda suck... what I am suggesting though is to have stronger enemies :3 maybe code it so that they don't appear until you reach a certain level? that would be kinda cool....anyone against that idea? :3 and also bigger towns could have more guards, while small trading post and smaller towns could have fewer guards...?
Now making the merchants stronger and able to handle themselves, or maybe rather than the merchant himself moving, a caravan that, with better loot is better guarded, would fit into the world nicely, because what trader would send all his stuff somewhere without some serious muscle?
Most of my money is made after i become strong enough to pick on the Imperial Lords people, kill, loot, sell, rinse, repeat, win. Simple and effective lol.
Wanna be an awesome person and give Chris monetary support for the game?

Stronger bandits wouldn't necessarily appear out of thin air, but if you're rich you'll draw all the existing bandits out of the woodwork because you're a juicy target. I think it fits marvelously with the "world doesn't revolve around you" model, if anybody paints a big red X on their head, the more the bandits will wanna rob them, whether that's some random merchants or the player.
