I've had to say multi threading for now as people have pointed out, if it's done early on it can be built around which will make the rest of the jobs later on easier.

However it'd be great to see a whole host of new features being added in then tackling the big job once the smaller ones are done but in reality its more about whats practical to the game development in order to keep it stable rather than adding in a whole host of new things only for the game to bug out.

Content, as in things to do. Atm everything I can do of is either looting, leveling, trading or building, so even a few simple missions, mechanics or such would help to create a little variety.

My Vote Would be for Intelligence, And AI for the different factions. I would like to someday see Becoming a Leader of a faction, Completely Joining factions with two or more groups. Hostile Takeovers of Towns, or Bandits. And Caves and Hideouts to loot and raid.

I Like the healing friendly units so far; the idea of jobs for factions is also enticing. A game with tons of factions to choose, annihilate, and take over. That would be one for the record, Especially when you put katana's into the mix. Completely out there, but a way to make Factions come back after they have been destroyed? or a new gang appearing every now and then? I very much like that idea.

I personally just want to see the RTS part of the game take off. Such as mining, crafting, farming, and of course building. That would give us something to do and provide us with the means of creating our own sources of income rather than murdering endless bands of enemies and traders to loot and sell their equipment. Sure there is trade but this can and needs to be improved upon. I understand it will but I (and many of my friends that own this game agree) believe that this will keep players occupied most until the other projects are finished.

I'd say get the multi-threading in as soon as possible, as that makes for a smoother gameplay for the testers of the game, and less random crashes, bad performance and stuff like that being reported, thus getting more reports on bugs in the actual game, and you can focus on fixing those and adding the features you are planning.

So, what I am saying is, make the game stable, then think about new features.

I agree with making the game stable - too many indie games / forums suffer from people who can't identify a bug from an unstable platform, and flood the community with useless posts.

However, once this has been done, my next idea would not be to have more factions, but better implementation of factions in the world - have certain cities owned by certain factions, and make this more apparent. It'd be great to see some differences in faction disposition as well ie. United Cities would be against the Holy Empire, however they have a great relationship with the Free Traders. Free Traders, however, are non-plussed by the Holy Empire.

Once faction disposition is implemented, and changes based on others actions, I'll purchase the full version. It'd be great to be able to assess which factions are doing well, and then ally your own faction with those in order to rise to power.

I can't imagine this being too difficult to add (Hopefully anyway).

-Formations for your squad(s).
-Commands like Patrol between these points.
-I also think when you add more interior furniture like sofas, counter, chairs and stools you should be able to make your members "Chill" where they would sit on any nearby furniture.

-being able to build walls and gates would be awesome, can't imagine this being too hard since you already have the models for em.
(If you are able to already and I missed it I'm sorry)

I just started playing the game, so please forgive if I'm being ignorant. But I would really love some sort of compass. Can I buy or craft one, or is this something that could be added to a future version?

Better AI seems like a key step to me. That way, it'll be easier to control armies and deal with fatigue/wounded when your men aren't switching randomly between enemies.

I'd really like multi-threading to be the focus so better performance can be gotten out of the way; that way things like AI and amount of npcs can be improved.

Anyway, I basically just want more performance first so more things to immerse the player into the world can come later. (more of a simulated world with an economy, etc, etc)

I think the behind the scenes stuff should definitely get priority over more game-play features. So multi-threading! Then perhaps some more core game mechanics.

It seems to me that all Kenshi needs to achieve the early days of Mount and Blade massive word of mouth is

1) Sound and music

2) Starting stats sufficient for the main character and 1 henchmen to take out at least a group of 3 starving bandits.

I agree that it needs word of mouth, and sound/music would be lovely but not needed over Multi-threading.

As for starting stats, I think its perfect. I enjoy the challenge of fighting groups of bandits, I plan on purchasing today. But The two guys I have now, can stand toe to toe with 6 dust bandits. (Albeit, they still get taken out. But not before destroying 4 of said bandits. )

1) Multi-Threading
2) Maybe some simple sword sounds would be nice.
3) More content via factions etc.

That's just me though!

If you use hit and run maneuvering you can go toe to toe with all six of them with a single character.

Since the AI is mostly aggressive and rarely runs away you can use this to your advantage. The leaders of each group are usually the quickest in terms of run speed. It's a good idea to deal with them first due to their skill levels and potential threat they pose.

I play Kenshi with a single character for fun/challenge. This is the way I take on clans/large groups of enemies that I cannot handle normally. Mind you the follow can be difficult depending on the amount of people chasing you.

-Character A is being engaged with Group B.
-Character A and Group B run towards one another.
-Character A is manually controlled to run around the enemies from Group B. (Being near the enemy causes them to attempt an attack.)
-These attacks miss 99% of the time if you move your character outside the enemies weapon range before their attack animation ends.
-Character A pauses the game after the enemy tries to attack.
-Character A targets the closest enemy that has just performed a attack (While outside of their attack range) and un-pauses the game.
-As soon as Character A's attack animation finishes run away a few feet, and repeats the process of hit-and-run.
*Clan members with higher ranks will attempt to use field medic skills, if they do so be sure to attack them once to break their medic skill and force them back into combat.

It's possible to abuse the quick save/quick load functions to ensure of perfect victories (Chance to be hit/land hits) if you feel the need to.

I Already cast my vote for Faction improvements, But i also would like to add that weapon smithing would be amazing!

Finding Or even removing pieces of armor, weapons. Even from mining like others have requested. Perhaps making a UI and inventory space for a forge. Anvil, and hammer in hand heating up and dousing red searing metal in cold water. Maybe at some point we could even have weapons that go up to 5.0 and custom naming of master crafted weapons, as well as a smithing skill set.

I'd like to see the inventory (and other) screen(s) fixed so that they're positioned in a more 'friendly' way.

An example of this would be when you go to the shop with a group of characters to sell stuff and start on a person who has no bag, sell their stuff, then switch to someone with a bag, the bag pushes the character inventory screen right which then overlaps the shopkeeper inventory screen. A quick fix for this would be to have the shopkeeper inventory screen open on the right edge of the screen.

Ranged weapons would be useful.. also perhaps buildable moveable gates that can open and close and buildable walls.
